Your bit in 8 Bit News about the Metal Gear PS3 costing over $1200 was complete bullshit. I'll try to illustrate it as best I can for you. I go to a store and pre-order an SE MGS PS3. The store makes me lay down a $500 deposit. On June 12th when the PS3 arrives, I go to the store and pay THE REMAINDER which is $100 plus tax bringing my total spent to $600 plus tax.

I'll save the discussion of the merits of PS3 for another time. Just thought it'd be helpful to, you know, get the actual information out there to the community.

What did you expect from it?

I personally expected a series of unique and entertaining games that we have come to know from the Playstations systems. However, we have had nothing but MLB re-hashes, and weak FPS's and racing games. I expected there to be rare dissapointments, but with last years Lair and this years Haze, as well as small library of games currently out for it, i am filled with nothing but dissapointment from this system. When the big four are finally released (MGS 4, God of War 3, Kingdom Hearts 3, and Final Fantasy 13), i will consider picking up one

Yeah, I've noticed that as well. They're trying too hard to compete with the 360. They're just another Xbox, and that's not what made the PS2 and PS1 popular.

You could see this toward the end of the PS2's life (which is still dragging on). They went from cool, original games to an excess of generic shooters and action games.

However, I've never understood the idea behind hating a console. Perhaps I'm taking Gee-off too literally, but shouldn't he have better things to direct such a large portion of his ire toward than a hunk of plastic, silicon and metal? Like, you know, the Irish? (lols)

And you expected all of this in the first 18 months? What AAA exclusives did the 360 have by June of '07 besides Gears of War? There are a lot of really good games on 360, no doubt, but the most of the AAA exclusives all came towards the end of the second year.

Condemned: Criminal Origins, Elder Scrolls Oblivion, Dead Rising, and Gears of War. Thats not to mention that since June '07, they've had Bioshock, Mass Effect, Halo 3, Lost Oddesy, as well as sharing superior online cabilities to other non-exclusives like GTA IV, Call of Duty 4, and TF2, not to mention the releases of Left 4 Dead, Banjo Kazooie 3, Ninja Gaiden 2, and Fable 2 amongst others

PS3 has MGS 4 and Little Big Planet. Shine on you black money sucking diamond.

A premium 360 is $350 and a 40gb PS3 is $400.

I saw this coming from about 50 km away. I'm looking forward to his supposed "entire podcast devoted to PS3 critiquing". The resulting debates are going to be epic. *grabs preemptive popcorn bag*

Yeah and think of all the great exclusive titles that comes with the PS3 like......... help me out here i'm at a loss. At least 360 gives you more bang for your bucks

Even though most people hate the ps3, I'm still planning on buying one eventually. It's not like I'm going to buy all of the games for the system anyways. It's kind of like the expensive Wii, not too big of a selection, but enough good title to keep you going from month to month. Now only if Sony stuck with one ps3 system, instead of changing it up and removing a system every other month.

You're comparing the mid-range 360 to the ass end of the PS3 spectrum, which doesn't even have backwards compatibility. A better comparison would be the Xbox 360 Arcade to the 40 GB PS3, in which case there is a disparity of nearly $150.

Uncharted is underrated.
Ratchet and Clank is the best platformer on an HD console.
Warhawk is one of the best online games this generation.
Resistance still has a strong community and was an excellent launch game.
Motortorm is a fun arcade racer.
Unreal Tournament 3 with user mods.

And this was all in the first 13 months after release.

Uncharted is a rip off of the bad aspects of the Tomb Raider series, Resistance is a halo clone, with the grayish gray ever in the history of hd.

I have not played the other games so i don't have a right to criticize them, but from what i've seen from them, they don't exactly drive the consumers to purchase the system, which could explain the sales of the PS3.

But nevertheless, to each their own. I'm done having this small internet duel.
