First off, no "wrestling is gay" or "wrestling is fake" (duh) posts. If you don't have one than don't reply. Thanks!

What is the greatest wrestling game in the history of wrestling games?
For nostalgia purposes i pick Pro Wrestling for the NES, that Starman was the greatest!
But I would probably have to pick WWE Smackdown: Here Comes the Pain. The customizable season mode was a hit, and was one of the last games to feature text driven story than a shortened voice over story.

What do you guys think?

For it's time, Wrestlemania 2000 for the N64 was the shit.

I agree with Pro Wrestling on the NES. I played as...Kin Corn Karn....or whatever the hell his name was. Or The Amazon, because he bit your head like the Bushwhackers used to.

More current would be Saturday Night Slam Masters - arcade and SNES. Or any of the WWF titles on SNES - Royal Rumble, RAW, etc.

I hear that Fire Pro Wrestling Returns on PS2 rocks the casbah too.

WWF No Mercy for N64. It's the best ever.

Good to see you here! :-D

Yes, SNSM is greatness. I always played as the little dudes because they could pull way more high risk maneuvers.
I'm thinking of trying to track down a copy of FPR this weekend.

you should be able to find fire pro real cheap. i think the most i've seen it for is $15. the only thing i can't figure out is how to pick weapons up. but it does have death matches like the japanese ones did.

Fire Prowres Returns for me.

I did a translation for Fire Pro Z(slightly improved port of D released for PS2 2 years before Returns was) one time... really crappy/sloppy, but people seemed to like it.

No Mercy for N64. It was pure greatness! I remember at exam time in high school I would bring in my 64 and TV and we would hold No Mercy tournaments that were grand! Nothing like your whole school watching you beat some ass!

WWF No Mercy.

I remember when I'd play through the story mode with my created characters, if I got beat up real bad but still won the match (or lost and was allowed to move on anyway) I'd exit the mode and go to CAW to edit my guy and add a cast or eye patch or things like that. Good times. In fact...I feel like enjoying some good times right now *goes to play NM*

WWF No Mercy as well, one of my favorite multiplayer games ever. My friends and I used to have the most awesome matches every night :-D

I've long been a fan of the SmackDown! series, so usually the latest edition becomes my favorite. I'll give the nod to WCW Backstage Assault, though.

I'm going to go hide now.

Does Def Jam: Fight for NY count???

Otherwise that, toss up between WWF Wrestlemania the arcade game or Saturday Night Slam Masters... 8-)

I'm not really a wrestling fan, but I did remember having fun with No Mercy on the N64.
