Like I said, you would just parse the URL ... you already know the format.

There's (unless these aren't there anymore) an ability to split by token. You'd do this twice. The first time, you'd split by the token ".", and the resultant array should be length (for youtube) 3, you would look at element 1 (second element) to get the hosting site (which will just say "youtube"). After that, you would do another token split on the character "/" on just element 2 of the same array (the part with the video information) ... as a result you'll get a new three element array of [com, v, videoaddress], you then take element 2 of that (third element) and use that as the actual video address.

When making the embed tags, you add on junk like I mentioned earlier at the end of the video string (using sting concatenation). The rest of the output is known.

Before this, you will have done more token splits or searches to get the actual BB tag and its arguments (like, HD, width, and height) you do error checking on all of them (or else you could put something up on the site that wont look very nice).

Come on. It wouldn't be THAT hard.

It would just be tedious, since, you'd have to write a new outputtag and inputurl function (or class if you roll that way) for each video hosting site. Since all their formats are different.
