Game: Pro Evolution Soccer 2008
Platform: Wii
Genre: Sports (Football/Soccer)
Pros: Incredibly deep and intuitive controls using the Wii-mote and nunchuk. Nothing feels tacked on or dumbed down. A great advancement in sports games. Online play that works.
Cons: Not for everyone, as the controls take some time to learn. There is a tutorial mode that covers everything you'll need to know. Graphics are fine during gameplay, but jagged and borderline ugly up close. Definitely PS2 quality in that regard.
Buy/Rent/Pass: If you're a fan of sports games, definitely buy it. It's the biggest thing to happen to the genre since Madden came to Wii. For anyone else, rent it and play until you've learnt the controls, then decide whether or not you like it.

Mana Khemia: Alchemists of Al-Revis - If you want an inventive rpg that brings new dishes to the table and has a storyline that blows you away, this probably won't be your game but it might be. If you want something that has traits reminisent of old and is just fun to play and mess around with the characters and abilities and items, then it may be. Very JRPG with heavy anime influences based around Japanese school system. Voice acting isn't anything special and the characters seem to be a little one sided other then the character developent stage,it is though quite fun and willl take up 40+ hours of your time on the first go and has many possible endings. The combat system is very reminisent of old rpg's and does not try to invent or bring anything new to the table in the combat system, which I loved because its fun to play with something thats proven to work by the test of time. The skill/item/weapons/armor crafting system by alchemy is neat too, though if you've played past games by gust, you know what it is.

Zack and Wiki for Wii. The way the remote is used is probably the greatest innovation ever, and the puzzles are pretty challenging. I haven't played much, though, because my remote batteries are dead.

Game: New Super Mario Bros.
Platform: Nintendo DS
Genre: 2D Platformer
Pros: Classic Mario gameplay returns! Brings elements together from SMB1, 3 and SMW seamlessly with some moves from the 3D Mario games spicing things up. Secret exits and "star coins" (the 3D games' stars meets the Yoshi coins in SMW) add more to play for.
Cons: Despite having 8 worlds that require revisiting levels to truly complete the game, it'll still a breeze for Mario veterans. The DS touch screen abilities are barely used, despite both screens being made use of well.
Buy, Rent, or Skip: If you have any liking for old school Mario, buy without hesitation.

Game: Mario Kart Wii
Platform: Wii
Genre: Racing
Pros: Online, lots of tracks, old tracks with updated graphics, lots of characters/unlockables, online
Cons: Blue shell, rubber band AI, dropping from first to near last in a matter of seconds
Buy, Rent, or Skip: Buy, if only for the online. If you don't care about online, then rent.

It's not really a game per say, but I think it counts...

Game: GameTap
Platform: PC.
Genre: Everything. RPG's to FPS to RTS to arcade fighters to shooters.. you name it.
Pros: The sheer amount of good games is staggering. Its got a vast majority of classic and landmark PC and console titles. A lot of the best ones are free. It's going to be the best $60 you'll ever spend.
Cons: Theres a lot of fluff. Also, if you're running Vista, prepare for some headaches with pre Win 2000 games.
Buy, Rent, or Skip: BUY BUY BUY BUY. Seriously. It's $60.00 a year. The price of a single console game, and with some of the older and hard to find PC titles, even cheaper than picking them up off Amazon or eBay.

I paid a whopping $20 and it came with 2 controllers, with cable extentions, and a memory card (to add to the stack I already have).
