not yet. you mean to say not yet.

Gwen was brought back for Ultimate Spider-Man and Uncle Ben is mentioned from time to time.

The Ultimate Universe is different than the regular 616 universe, so to use that as an example of someone being brought back to life is silly, it's basically like saying "She was brought back in the 3rd SM movie".
Also, being mentioned doesn't equal being brought back to life.

Vertigo and many other cool comics from many different publishers.

Narrowing your reading to only one publisher is stupid. the last comics (including graphic novels) i bought were all from different publishers. not single different titles were from the same.

cheers

They both offer a lot of good stuff, but lately, I'm going to have to say DC has had the better product. Civil War for me was a let down, and DC has been hitting home runs every year lately with their storylines.

I personally love Marvel Zombies :zombie: and Ultimate Spider-Man. :-D <3 <3 <3
In Ultimate Spider-Man, Gwen came back as a clone/Carnage monster (it's not really Gwen, she's dead) and she's currently in a stasis chamber along side the Scorpion clone of Peter at the SHIELD HQ. Nick Fury is up to something.

Also, as no one has voted for it yet I'd like to say I absolutely love Robert Kirkmans The Walking Dead :zombie: on Image Comics.

There is a book that has been going on for a while and has yet to disappoint. I started getting the trades, then I ended up buying all of them. I can't wait for this next one. I just wish they were in color.

Darkhorse all the way.

Marvel is great but the stories have gotten way too far fetched for me. I did enjoy the zombie stories that they came out with for sure and i have to say the last Marvel comic that I read was when "Captain America" got assasinated...which is a while. Anyways I stayed away from Marvel for a while just because the rehashing of stories have bored me. Still I want to see more creativity from the comic industry. It seems that manga is filling that gap that so many comic fans yearn for yet I still hold some hope for Marvel.

(I didn't mention DC becuase it is and will be lame...Batman is cool but not enough to change my view on the company)

I am going to say what I always do: Both have great characters, DC writes better stories. Therefore DC gets the edge.

Well, Gwen Stacy and Uncle Ben were peripheral characters, they weren't actual heroes or stars of their own books. DC killing off Green Lantern or Green Arrow and bringing them back is totally different because of the uproar caused and the amount of fans that were pissed off...they never should have been killed in the first place.

EDIT: er, is it periphery? I honestly don't know, so if someone does, enlighten me on the proper usage :).

Hal Jordan had his own lobby called HEAT (Hal's Emerald Advancement Team). They would carpet spam the DC forums with "Bring Back Hal!" topics.

Gwen Stacy was in Ultimate Spider-Man that was mentioned earlier and Uncle Ben came back in the House Of M I believe...

Also, Jean Grey in every way, shape or form should stay fucking dead.

I'm gonna be douche and say I only count the 616 universe...

Also, I'm not a fan of Jean coming back over and over again, but, I mean, it's kinda the nature of the Phoenix (reborn from the ashes, and all that jazz.)

If its between Marvel and DC, then I definately read Marvel more. Why? To me, its a little more based in reality. Sure you have your superheroes and super-villians but within the Marvel universe, the lines become blurred more than once. Most of the heroes are incredibly flawed in some fashion and I think thats what helps us relate to them more than say Superman. Batman definately has some major flaws to him, but he's the exception when it comes to the heavy hitters of the DC universe.

However...if you are asking who my favoritre publisher is amonst the choices above...well then it'd be a hard tie between Marvel or Image Comics. Seriously, Marvel has really done a good job for the past 3 years it seems. Whether you loved it or hated it, Civil War was an insane success, followed by Captain America's shocking and realistic death, followed by the less popular but still fun World War Hulk, followed by the successful but totally douchebag moment called Spider-Man: One More Day, and now Secret Invasion which poses to become more successful than Civil War. And this coupled with some awesome new series like Kick Ass and 1985 (which I just read today and just loved). Honestly, DC can't touch that.

But then we have Image. The company I would love to submit my comic to when I'm done with it. Why? Well for one, they don't take ownership of the comics away from their writers and for the most part, the writers are free to do what they want with their work. Prime example of this? Robert fuckin' Kirkman. This man has made one brilliant comic after another for Image...seriously, I'd could speak thousands of words of praise I feel for this man...but I already made a thread for that. :3 As far as original content, Image definately takes the cake.
