Not sure how many baseball fans we have here, so this could end up being a waste of time, but we've got spring training now, and the season coming up, and I'm excited to see the Twins play again.

Anyway, I felt we should have something for the MLB, after all, we've got an NHL thread, so why not?

I'm also a baseball fan. It looks like it'll be another 4th or 5th place finish for the Jays again. They lost some good talent over the off-season.

Thank God, I'm not the only fan (of baseball).

I wish we were getting a stadium like your's, it will get tricky to play in September in 2010 (and hopefully October)

It sucks when you go to the Rogers Centre (aka the SkyDome), and it only has 30,000 people in it. Although thats not a bad crowd, the place looks empty because it was meant to house 53,000 fans.

Actually, I think we sometimes only get 15,000 fans at the (Hubert H. Humphrey Metro-) Dome at some of the smaller series. 30,000 is about average (edited for an error)

One thing I think both of us can agree on, though, is that at least we aren't Royals fans.

I was talking with the Royals fans the other day. Those two guys are dicks.

Oh Snap!

Seeing a game at the Metrodome is a different expierence. I was there for a Twins vs White Sox game last year. It was odd being 8 feet above the field. I was sitting along the thrid base line, 10 rows up.

I'm excited to see Griffey back in seattle, I know he's old and all but....heck he's one of the greatest mariners. nice to see him alongside Ichiro.

Didn't Ichiro have a bad season last year? Griffey is one of my favorite players. He is naturally talented. Its too bad about the amount injuries he has suffered though.

Beeslo, I'm with you on the Yankees. I hope they crash and burn. Especially since they have that backstabber AJ Burnett now. I still feel that you aren't being a real Texan by cheering on a team in Boston. As I've told you before you should at least be cheering for the Astros, seeing as they are in the NL.

Its good to have pride. Unlike Beeslo who has no Texan pride. ;-)

I'm feeling good about this season, especially now that the Twins have a 3rd baseman, now if we could convince Gardy to let Nick Punto go. Really, what's the point?

There's pride and then there's just not knowing when you team sucks ass (example: Cowboys, Texans, Rangers and Astros). But I have huge pride for the one that counts: Texas Longhorns, baby! Hook'em!

As far as baseball teams go, I really grew up living all over the place so I never had a set baseball team for a while. I liked the A's back when Mark McGuire was over there and not roiding up. But eventually I settled on the BoSox sometime around 1993 and have been a fan ever since. I like to think it was me rooting for them that made them rise to such prominence. ;-)

I hope the same theory dosn't apply in reverse. I started rooting for the Jays around 94. We all know how good they have done since.

That's mainly cause the Jays are from Canada and baseball is AMERICA's pastime. Basically, Canada sucks.

But 90% of the Jays players are American. What does that tell you?

Not to mention Justin Morneau (AL MVP) is Canadian.
