Hey guys, is it pretty safe to assume that OoT was simply just a tech demo for Majora's Mask????

OoT was a plot devised to create Link x Sheik furry fanfiction.

Fixed.

I was never a big fan of the Zelda franchise, and I sometimes fail to see why some gamers worship it like some sort of god, but I suppose it's all about opposing tastes at the end of the day.

This.

Everything after A Link to the Past is garbage which could actually be said for all Nintendo consoles afterwards as well.

lol not necessarily, the gba games were good. four sword adventures was epic and hilarious. if you haven't played phantom hourglass i suggest you do so.

as for the 3d games they took a turn for the better, when you think about it OoT is a 3d version of ALttP. I like everything about the zelda series, i think it created the criteria for adventure games to follow.

MM might have been the most original gaming concept in years. the clock thing and the...retarded save style lol

If you've played one LoZ game you've played them all.

Couldn't that be said of pretty much every video game that's part of a series? :wut:

I never bothered reading this thread, but now that I have, you might have just won the Psycho Gorilla Awards with that post.

OoT was very different for 3d games at the time, it's system and ways of playing would be mimicked by many other adventure games after it. Wind Waker was great, as well as Twilight Princess, even though deep in my heart I think they just made that one to please all the people who didn't like the art style of Wind Waker. Zelda games however can't really follow the same formula, 3d or 2d any longer. It's hard to picture what they can do that'd be different, but the OoT system would be stale if they put it into another 3d Zelda. Perhaps they should just let the series die out for a while, at least until the next gen consoles. Another Zelda game on the Wii seems a tad pointless.

....and maybe I should put my flame shield on, but I find Majoras Mask more replayable than OoT. XD It's my own personal taste though, and naturally I wouldn't recommend that feeling I have for everyone else.

I have my original Zelda cart which I got in 1989 or 1990, in it's original package with everything mostly intact as can be after 20 years.
Last time I popped it in was 8 or 9 years ago, the saves where still on it. But I doubt if I pop it in now anything will be left altough one can hope :-D
I also used to have Link's Adventure, but I sold it XD
The most revent Zelda game I bought was Twilight princess for the Wii, unknowing to me at the time of purchase that was the game needed for running homebrew. Oh Zelda games, you give so much back and ask so little
I did play OoT but never finished it, and Majora's Mask didn't really get me excited.
The best ones ( imo ) are still the top down 2D Zelda games, of which I have played and finished almost all.

There are some series that change things up, believe it or not. Mario and Sonic (until 3) games kept it fresh, for the most part; the Dragon Warrior games on the NES changed drastically from game to game; Mortal Kombat did the same for a while, unlike Street Fighter; same with Fatal Fury; same with Castlevania up until Symphony. Lots of differences in series that actually tried instead of ca$hing in.

Am I the only one not stoked for Zelda: Spirit Tracks? Don't get me wrong, I loved Phantom Hour Glass...I mean some of the Stylus controls were brilliant and added so much to the game and made it fresh, unique and really fun. Although the Dungeons felt alittle bland at times. Anyways, Spirit Tracks on the otherhand looks so cut and paste....Personally i'm not huge on the Wind Waker look(again), and a Train for traveling? that means you'll have pretty much no freedom for movement as you'll be stuck to a track.

Anyways, damnit I'm dieing to see the new Zelda Wii Game using 1:1 MotionPlus Controls. :yuush:
Besides that, i so need to finish Zelda: Links Awakening, fuckin love that game.

The Wind Waker is probably my favorite Zelda game, and I personally enjoy the style. It just seems like this is an odd direction to take the series, and it definitely will screw with people's minds in terms of continuity. Wasn't everything underwater in the WW universe? A train shouldn't be necessary to traverse a small island.

I'm going out on a limb and say that this wont be part of the WW storyline. I think they're just going to use that art style for the handhelds from now on and go "realistic" style for console.
Or maybe I'm wrong and this does take place in the WW story and they just happened to find a new land while sailing (wasn't that their goal at the end of WW?).
Who knows at this point. After all, we've only gotten a trailer so far.

I'd prefer A Link to the Past or The Minish Caps art style over the WindWaker Design....I'm just not feeling the 3D or the artstyle. And am i the only one who absolutly LOVED the 80's and early 90's Manual Cartoon design of Link ect? Check out the Banner on this Page, I love the look of Link there.

So Majora's Mask is on Virtual Console.

Fuck, I need to give this game another shot. I've tried it 4 times now and just get pissed. Just watch the replies to this stating how fucking awesome it is and how I need to play through it.
