Hey Guys, just a quick FYI for the uninformed purchasers:

The Collector's Edition is AWESOME, the Survival Edition with the clock is HORRIBLE. The clock is a broken piece of shit that eats batteries, there's an EPIC thread on Bethesda's forums with people bitching about the clock, etc.

Here's the main problem, it LOOKS cool, I mean, it really lacks any paint/texture to it, it's more or less a plastic mold that's all the same color of steel olivey green. However, the CLOCK portion blows.

It takes THREE AA batteries, it's life-span per three batteries is about a WEEK. A fucking WEEK.

It's the most basic of clocks, it just tells the time, no alarm or anything of the sort. The LEDs on the buttons to change the time on the clock, as well as the buttons themselves have been known NOT to even be functional.

It's VERY poor craftsmanship that is VERY obviously outsourced to some underpaid non-expert workers in some overseas foreign manufacturing shop. I bought a survival edition, and now it's just a glorified paper weight. I'm REALLY waiting for Bethesda to step the fuck up, but NOBODY has said ANYTHING about it yet besides the consumers. :(

I know this is for a game that's over a month old, and most people probably already pre-ordered/bought the Survival Edition, but hopefully this can be a warning to people who are going to try and buy it off e-bay or buy the clock seperately down the road, etc. I don't want anybody to get ripped off.

They should have put more points into their repair skill.

I'm sorry, someone had to say it

But you still need another clock to repair it with.

So only foreign places can possibly have poor craftsmanship? uh huh ;) jks

The clock does sound like a piece of shit though.

I've never even heard of a survival edition.

I bought the Collectors LE on the release date that had the lunchbox, the bobblehead, the DVD and an art booklet.

No piece of shit watch in mine....

I want to rummage through your place Link. It sounds like you have quite the collection of doodads and trinkets. My place has nothing whatsoever. Just a computer and a mattress.

Yeah, pretty much. I have just about everything ever... my doodads and trinkets could rival Handsome Tom's closet. He might crush me in games, but I crush him in action figures, movie memorabilia, replicas, etc.

It may be true that collectors items are sometimes cheap, but this is like 50 dollars more than the collectors edition... the way I see it, it should have damn well worked

Yeah, especially since the collector's edition has everything but the clock. =/
