Anyone played this game?

Image

I've just received a review copy, and I'm about to dive into it. It's an expanded port of a PS2 game from 2001 developed by Suda 51 and Grasshopper Manufacture, before they became international superstars with Killer7 and No More Heroes.

It looks interesting - a puzzle-mystery game. I'll weigh in with my thoughts later.

The DS version isn't out in the States until 2009, but it came out in EU this week.

Check the wiki - here

It happens! Well, the publisher, Rising Star Games, are based in the UK. So that probably has something to do with it.

Sadly, it's not that great, so North America shouldn't feel too upset...

Last from me on this, for the time being anyway.

My review of Flower, Sun and Rain went up today. If anyone's interested, check it out here.

Erm, for those who want a soundbite reaction, I say in the end that it is 'a steadfast, fuck-the-system middle finger to all those looking for an engaging game'.

Translation: "It's a Suda51 Game"

That's what many have said about Killer 7.
...which made me want to play it even more.

That Lunatics side-puzzle was ridiculous. How are you supposed to think that up? The worst thing is, all this "optional" shit you have to do before progressing and you can't go back to do it, so if you get stuck, you either resort to a walkthrough or you waste hours of your time trying to figure it out. Bleh. This game seems to have the same pitfalls as Prof. Layton did for me.

Well, I finished the game and it was pretty cool. Sort of wish The Silver Case came out first so I'd better understand it.

Ohwell. There were a couple "wtf I hate math" sort of things but for the most part it was enjoyable.
