Forum rules

Rules

1. All normal forum rules apply.

2. NO JOKES! This isn't the topic for funny pictures or wise ass remarks.

3. Serious topics need to be well thought out when written, they also need to have well thought out replies. Please try to write more than a single sentence. Back up your opinion with facts or something else.

4. Keep a cool and calm head, especially about things such as politics, gay rights, religion, etc. People are allowed to have differing opinions than you, please don't view them as personal attacks, please don't start any sort of major drama or get all offended here. In the end, we're all friends still.

5. Use common sense when posting in here, which simply means ask yourself if this is something really worth posting, are you intentionally being mean to someone, if your topic is ridiculously controversial (IE. Baby Eating), are you accidentally bashing Christianity on Easter Day, etc.

6. In your posts, please try to clarify whether you're speaking based on fact or personal experiences as it will lead to less misunderstandings. Please do not state opinions as if they were facts without proof to back it up.

7. NO DRUNK POSTING.

Failure to comply with any of these rules (additional rules may be added in the future as needed) will result in a warning or perhaps a banning from the 'Why So Serious?' sub-forum. The severity of the punishment works in tandem with the severity of your actions.

I'm from Texas. I'm voting either Libertarian or for Thomas Jefferson. I don't agree with most of what McCain wants to do, and I'm upset with Obama for being so different after he excepted the nomination. I'm not saying his positions have, just his persona. So has Biden's. I have a theory that most people in America actually align more with Libertarians. In their "Statement of Principles," they declare: "We hold that all individuals have the right to exercise sole dominion over their own lives, and have the right to live in whatever manner they choose, so long as they do not forcibly interfere with the equal right of others to live in whatever manner they choose." Or I might vote for Zombie George Washington. Of course he'd take a look at what we set up and say, "Did no one listen to my farewell speech? No parties, no European politics. What's so hard about that?" Then shoot his own brain out, after drinking a fine bottle of scotch.

Fox, added a 4th choice to your poll, which accidentally wiped the 4 or 5 previous votes (Sorry guys! Didn't realize it'd do that!) I'm not voting, at least not as far as I can tell.

zomg admin haxxor'd mai pollz

It's ok I have done the same thing myself. On the old version you could add more options but now it just wipes everything.

I wonder why no one is filling out the survey part and just picking the poll option

:-o

Yes... I abuse ellipses... Deal with it... ^_^

Sigh... regardless, we all voted our own ways... no need for calling anyone unintelligent or ignorant... some think we've suffered... some think we've thrived... thus our separate faiths in our presidential candidates... But either way we've voted, we must all realize that we are voting for who we think will better America... I've heard both sides and I have made my decision just recently... regardless of what each side is about, I went for the one who seems like they are more about what's good for my family, my friends, random strangers, and even my enemies... And I hope he'll do right by me and America...

All in all, we've voted... we can think our opponents are unintelligent and ignorant... but what good is it doing us... let us all hope for the best cause we can all agree on one thing...

We voted cause we know it's right for our future... ^_^

~Willie, The Dream Chaser... (I am so putting this in a blog... ^_^)

BTW, I voted for Obama...

I can't vote because I'm only 17, but that doesn't mean that I'm not involved in politics. Even if I was 18 I still would not vote. I know that I would probably being missing out on a historic election, but I haven't researched all candidates to the full extent to where I would be able to make an appropriate decision that would best fit my future.

As it's officially been called at this point, it's not worth much... but I voted for McCain.

Why? National security. Take that away, and we don't HAVE a country any more, which makes nitpicking ANY other issue meaningless.

If that weren't an issue (oh, to still have the pre-9/11/01 way of looking at the world,) I would have still voted McCain, because (call me what you will,) I cannot and will not EVER support a candidate who is pro-choice on abortion. It's WRONG. Philosophize all you want, you will NEVER get me to see the murder of unborn children in ANY other light.

IF you still need to be told, I'm a conservative. Not a f*cking Republican. That party died a long time ago. I'm also from West Texas. I don't own a gun, or drive a pickup, or wear cowboy boots. I don't have an accent. I DO vote values.

Enough talk. It's time to put up or shut up, Mr. President-Elect. I hope for my country's sake that I'm wrong about you.

At least you gave a good reason why you would not vote. I understand that you might not have connected with the candidates and it is perfectly fine since it is a voice your choice country. I just hope that the in the next election a candidate connects to you as much as Mr. Obama has with so many people as he did in '08.

That's a bit alarmist isn't it? It's not like he's going to disband the military. From what I can tell, Obama takes terrorism very seriously, that's why he's pulling out of Iraq and putting security forces into Afghanistan.

So he says. Again, I'm reserving final judgement until he ACTS.

And I know it's rehash, but a quick pullout from Iraq = BAD IDEA. Obama knows this. I wouldn't be surprised if it takes him a good 12 months or more for withdrawal... never mind redeployment.

His projected time frame is a 16 month controlled withdraw, and then getting the administration to use the oil revenue (That apparently the US won't take a cut out of) to rebuild the countries core infrastructure. Sounds good on paper. I wanna see if he can actually do it in 16 months XD I'm confident that he can do it within 2 or so years, but I don't know whether 16 months is enough to packup and go home. There's a decade worth of kit over there.
