If so, please, convince me why he is. Convince me that he's better in any category than John McCain.

Also, one of the most important things I'd like you guys to do is convince me why THIS would be a good idea:

*New gasoline taxes (as if gas weren't high enough already!)
*New taxes on retirement accounds, and last but not least...
*New taxes to pay for socialized medicine, so we can receive the same level of medical care as other third world countries

Obama is the first to tell you he wants to send troops to Pakistan. Just because he doesn't support the war in Iraq doesn't mean it won't still be there when he's in office.

That's a plus. Evidence on McCain being against net Neutrality please? This is the only good thing that I've heard out of Obama's mouth. Also, for the guy above who said McCain's education plan is bad, what makes you think OBAMA's plan is GOOD? He thinks that political accuracy is more important than the actual shit we're learning in school right now.

No, that's not the point of this thread. It just blows my mind how people think that Obama's the best thing since sliced bread, and they treat McCain and Palin like a bag of shit. Maybe there is SOME reason in it? Just maybe? That's what I'm looking for out of this thread.

The main thing I have against Obama is what his ideas are like; they sound good IN THEORY, but when I stop to think about what would happen IN PRACTICE, it just doesn't work out, and it becomes a huge mess.

Yeah, he hasn't really established a stance on the issue, but you know what? The Internet isn't THE most important thing in the world, and it shouldn't be at the top of the list of issues that need to be solved in America, because right now, the internet is fine the way it is. It's just not something that we should be focusing on at this point in time.

National health care. Plenty of people who don't have it don't pay taxes, have nice cars, iPods, computers, etc, but they just choose not to pay for health care. What this is going to amount to is LINES at the hospitals, and the wrong people are going to be there, abusing it, and getting in the way of the people who really need to get into the care of doctors, etc. Anyways, the money that we'd be paying the government for said health care would be more than if we just paid for it ourselves, and assholes who don't even abide by the rules are going to get all the benefits.

but yes, in times of decline, a country shouldnt put up with an average, or below average political head. it needs something to pull the country out of the red, and into the green. Neither presidential candidate have the potential to do that, but McCain will atleast make the chaos flood not so quickly.

It's not just about Osama Bin Laden anymore.

He is just sort of the face of Al Queda. Now, obviously, it isn't about WMDs anymore, more so fighting the whole war on terror.

I haven't heard people say shit about WMDs in YEARS.
