It's my Nickname. Or at least my preferred one.

I always had a character in my party whose last name was Kenthen when I played any of the old Goldbox RPGs or similar games. He kicked infinite ass and so I named my Battlefield soldiers after him. And then my gamertag. And now my username on this forum.

Why I gave a character that as his last name to begin with is a mystery even to me though.

My name comes from a F1 team Toro Rosso it means Red Bull in italian. there my favorite F1 team and i alwys thought the name was cool

nickname from my tennis days. I use to be blonde, play a lot like Anna Kornikova, and my last name is Slavic. Add the -ova to the Americanized last name and take out the first five letters and you have kova.

well ok here's the story,
it all began in 1998 when i was at a friends house playing some WWF Warzone on his N64,after a couple of rounds he came up with his idea to make like a group of wrestlers based on his friends so he gave me the pad and i started creating a character....after the look and the outfit was done i had to come up with a name,i didn't have any english knowledge at all back then so i asked him(my friend was from england) "you know i thought about a good name for a wrestler,something that really expresses what he does best,simple....PAIN!"

so there it was my first english screenname for a game and this went on to the game WWF Wrestlemania 2000 on the N64 where my friend wanted to do a faction in the game,again the wrestlers in this faction where his friends that had created their alter-ego in the game.So the theme of the faction was an army...(he probably stole that idea from the DX Army back then) anyway,he made that army and everybody had his personal rank,i became....MAJOR PAYNE yeah that's right based on the movie movie major payne,he came up with the idea to bring that in and i liked it. of course i didn't keep the major that was something for his army faction thing but not for future generations of wrestling games,so when i got into forums,chats and online gaming i chose to stick with the nick Payne and if that's already taken changing it to Painmaster or later then Paynemaster....the master is just a generic add to the nick which doesn't have any deeper meaning

so from there on i named myself Payne everywhere i went,i created a comic with the original character which i've created in wrestlinggames and it's a tradition that everytime i get a new wrestlinggame,the first thing i do is create a new version of Payne

so there you have it,that's the whole story behind my name. it has nothing to do with Max Payne cause i had the nick around 2000 while MP came out in 2001.
