People need to start taking SF4 more seriously than they are, because they left what is probably the most legendary fighting game franchise in the history of video gaming alone for ten years and finally give it an actual sequel. Not only that but this, and Megaman 9, proved to us that Capcom has taken the advice of the fans old enough to have played the first games to realize that 2D is the only way the franchise should go.

This game... oh god. I can't fathom how much I've been waiting for this game to come out. I feel as if the second coming of Jesus is about to happen. Its fucking Street Fighter.

because street fighter is a horrible series and giving it ugly new graphics isn't going to help improve it.

I'd prefer to have a general Street Fighter thread or maybe a general Fighting game thread.

As for SF IV--we've already heard how Fei-Long and Dan are console exclusive characters, but who else does Capcom have in mind to add?

Console exclusive characters is a dumb idea, if you ask me.

I also heard that they're planning to put lil' miss fanservice (Sakura) in the game at some point.

Yeah, it's disappointing that every single character won't be available on a single console.

And, yes they really do need to add in more female characters.
I love Chung-Lee and I've taken a liking to C.Viper, but some variety would be nice.
And there's a crap load of girls in the series.

have you EVER played King of Fighters? Fatal Fury? Samurai Shodown? Last Blade? Marvel vs. Capcom? Capcom vs. SNK? seriously, these are all far better games than street fighter.

And second of all, yes, I have played all of those, I've played probably every fighting game ever made (except for SC4) and while those are good SF's pretty much the great grand'daddy of them all. If it wasn't for SF none of those games would ever exist.

Well, actually there were fighting games before Street Fighter.
Few examples are: Urban Champion, Shanghai Kid, Galactic Warrior, Gladiator, and so on.

While, I respect your opinion, I don't think Street Fighter is a "horrible" series.
There's a reason why SF II, III and Alpha tournaments are still being held.
I suppose I, along with a lot of other people, just have horrible tastes in games.

Well,Street Fighter did set the bar for fighting games but there were fighting games before it.
Street Fighter is just the one that defines fighting games.

I finally got to play this game at a place called Super Arcade in Walnut, CA. All I can say is, it plays like SF2 and a bit like 3 [which is a good sign in my terms] but also, the graphics for this game were great. Too bad I was in a big line to play it [20 people were there at the opening of the arcade]
