Am I going to dissappear from the face of the earth until these games are completed in its entirety? I never played them before, but they seem right up my alley. Is the ridiculously good critical acclaim for these games justified?

DOTT is where the money's at. you should use SCUMMVM for those games to get the full effect of those games unless you have an old computer you are playing them on

Day of the Tentacle is probably my fav of the three. It's a classic for sure.

Ya I very quickly realized that Scummvm is the way to do, for some reason the lucasarts scumm engine doesnt seem to work with dosbox

You are in for a fun time. Day of the tentacle is an amazing game. The Monkey Islands are great too, but as said above, DOTT is something really special.

While your on the Scumm engine. Check out Flight of the Amazon Queen, it's free and awesome.

I love these kinds of games to death and as a matter a fact, I'm playing through the Monkey Island games as I'm typing this (like literally, the ScummVM window is open). There's just one thing that I find kinda sad.

I've never played Day of the Tentacle.

Like, what the hell? I just never had the opportunity and it bugs me, because Maniac Mansion has been one of my favourite games ever since I first bought it on the NES. This thread has made me depressed.

Day of the tentacle was my favorite of the three. The animation, the humor, the characters, and REALLY clever puzzles.

But I remember this game, I played it on the old Windows 95 PC in our cellar. I remember that I never got past the first screen because I had no idea what to do.

dott and a lot of old lucasarts point and click games are amazing. along with the star trek ones interplay did.

I've played every single one of the Monkey Island games and loved 'em to death, but have never played Day Of The Tentacle. I should really get the time to check it out.

I liked Sam & Max just a little bit more than Day of the Tentacle, but it might just be because I liked having that wacky Max follow me around everywhere.

I've seen ratix play through a few of these games and they're just so awesome.
