So things just got really interesting on the Ottawa side of things. Alfredsoon isn't traveling to New York so he won't be playing tomorrow. He must be really hurt as the man is a machine and plays through a lot. I really hope this isn't how his career ends. It would be so sad to see.

Jesse Winchester is out too with some sort of injury. So who draws in? Well this is the interesting part. Remember how I talked about how Ottawa has a pile of awesome prospects on the way? Well looks like one or two are going to get a chance! Mark Stone, WHL and this year's World Junior Championship scoring leader and Mike Hoffman, the Binghamton Senators scoring leader are traveling with the team and looks like one of them will suit up tomorrow to get some more scoring.

Even more interesting ANOTHER Sens propect, Jacob Silfverberg, the Swedish Elite League regular season and playoff scoring leader (he actually broke the scoring record for the league's playoffs and won MVP of the season AND playoffs) is coming sometime this weekend after celebrating his team's championship victory (he plays for his home town in Sweden so he has every right to go and celebrate with his family and friends) and could possibly play Monday, but more likely if there's a game 7...

It's going to be a very interesting game 5 tomorrow seeing some of the future put in. I think they might go with Mark Stone as he's a pure goal scorer. We need that right now.

That was pitiful. Ottawa could have put a stop sign in goal and won that game. Disgusting.

Maybe the Rangers are looking ahead to fishing season.

Yeah, fishing poles. Not golf clubs. Isn't that original?

LET'S GO BLUES!!!!

I watched the final period tonight and I thought we were going to loose this one. San Jose played their best game tonight and they really wanted to go back to their place.

But, two goals out of complete nowhere, a few more minutes of intense hockey and some screaming fans and we are going to the Second Round for the first time in over a decade!

The Blues won and the Red Wings got eliminated? This weekend was perfect for hockey!

Alfie's back! And it's looking like Silfverberg might be playing tonight too. Not sure about taking Stone out of the lineup when he set up the game winning goal (in his first NHL game mind you) but it'll be another interesting game!

We're going 7! Back to MSG! :yuush:

Chris Kreider scores his first NHL goal, and it's the game winner. Congratulations, kid! You've just saved your team's season.

Rangers deserve the win. No doubt about it, we fell asleep after an awesome first period but the reffing in this game was pure garbage. On both sides... ugh... I hope for better in game 7 (I called it btw!)

I'm gonna be shaking like a leaf all day because of this fucking game. And even if the Rangers do win, they'll have to deal with Washington again. Fuck me. :skerd:

Dude, I am feeling the same way. Freakin nervous/anxious to get the game started. It also sounds like Konopka and Carkner might be hurt and out for tonight... ugh...

That's a winner! :phew:

Your guys played balls to the wall, Blackie. You have nothing to be ashamed of.

Hell of a series. Maybe we'll do it again sometime.

ugh... terrible time for the Sens to play bad. Gilroy and Kuba have to go next season. Soft and useless. We missed Carkner tonight. I feel so bad for Alfie though. You could tell he really wanted this game. He was almost in tears. I really hope he comes back next year.

Great series Sevens. Rangers deserved it. Hope they win the whole thing.

I'll change my sig over tomorrow once I get into the office. A bet's a bet.

Sorry to see you go, Blackie! They played their hearts out and went further then anybody ever imagined. Just to go 7 games like that was very impressive.

But, it's time for the second round! We have:

New York Rangers Vs. Washington Capitals
New Jersey Devils Vs. Philadelphia Flyers

Los Angeles Kings Vs. St. Louis Blues
Phoenix Coyotes Vs. Nashville Predators

The first round was simply fantastic for me. I got to see my hated Blackhawks and Red Wings go down along with a Boston team as well. I love to watch those teams fall apart! And the Blues took care of the Sharks in a nice fashion.

I am fearing this series with the Kings though. We are so evenly matched that it could just come down to a couple of bad breaks and we could be done. If we can continue our great goal tending and just push the pressure, I think we can get to the Finals!

However, the excitement for Blues hockey in this town is growing every single day. St. Louis will always be a baseball town, but during the winter months, the hockey fans come out in droves. We are used to the Cardinals doing well, but the Blues hardly do well as most of our players leave our team. The arena has been packed and everybody is really excited for our team. I don't think I have ever been this interested in hockey since the 90's.

For predictions, just for fun's sake, I've got the Capitals Vs. Flyers in the East & Blues Vs. Predators in the West.

...Sorry Sevens. :hidden:

Is it just me or does Florida's seats look constantly empty. I was drinking while I watched the game, so it could've been the alcohol.

Sig's changed. boo-urns I say!

Oh well, on the Blues bandwagon for the West and the Rangers for the East. Screw the Caps. They'll go down... which in turn means I keep this sig for longer... god dammit I can't win at all this year...

Markies, BuddyBaker I don't think I've done this yet but welcome to NHL talk! We lost a lot of people who regularly chatted on here and Koari only really pops on when the Flyers make the playoffs so please stick around!

Also we have a regular season hockey pool we've done the last two years. It doesn't start until October but feel free to join in! My freakin girlfriend won the last time... I didn't see that one coming at all...

A Flyers/Kings final could very well happen. Kings/Blues series is going to be interesting. Lots of hitting...

I hope the Flyers beat the Devils and Giroux continues to be huge. Gotta cheer for the local boy (he's from my area)!

A Rangers/Blues final would be pretty swell. I usually stop dreaming about playoffs around March, since that's when the Flames choke.
