They're too busy making the same fighting games over and over, putting super, ultimate or whatever in front of the name and selling that then actually doing any real work on games. Can you tell I'm sick of Capcom?

I think the problem is that old school RE isn't relevant to Capcom anymore and they are just trying to push themselves away from everything Mikami established. If they want to do that, fine, but my biggest annoyance is that they're dragging the characters that we grew to like in the older games. Leon seems like the only one who wasn't ruined, but Chris and Jill got ruined, and Wesker's entire character of a sociopath who only wants to keep his skin turned into a world conquering bent psychopath. If you want this to be an action series, then put in new characters or at least try to stay true to the characters rather than slap them on the game with horrible storytelling (even by RE standards).

I dunno. It's just not the RE game I love to play. I never enjoyed RE solely because of action. I enjoyed it for it's atmosphere, cheap jump scares (like zombies grabbing you through a window), and its originality in gameplay. It really was a game series that made you rely on item management and planning ahead, not dropping hundreds of zombies with an overpowered gun. Maybe it's just me, but it'd be cool if they had an action based side series or whatever, but still had a horror series running. Dead Space, despite me not finding it the slightest bit scary, proved that horror games sell. Heck, the remake of the first game sold quite well and was loved by everyone. Why not continue that and expand upon the horror roots? But sadly, like all companies, sales are what influence their decisions, and RE 5 did sell well, so why bother changing the formula? Ever since Mikami left, the series went from amazing to meh for me.

It's really funny how easy of a fucking cash grab it would be to remake RE2 or even port it to the DS or something. It's usually cited as everyone's favorite Resident Evil, so... why the fuck not just pull a Square Enix here guys? Seri-fucking-iously

The best thing they could do would make an RE 1 type remake for RE 2 and 3. I would be so happy if they did that. And it would honestly sell well, because it worked so great with other Capcom rereleases. Street Fighter II, Bionic Commando, etc all had a remake and it worked fantastically.

The biggest issue with Capcom is them basically distancing themselves from people who no longer work for them. This is a big issue with Silent Hill to some degree as well. I'd be afraid to see what would happen to a Metal Gear game if Kojima wasn't onboard. Sometimes a franchise is only as good as its creator/director and just needs to END.

PS. yes, this belongs in the RE thread.

PPS. Fuck Call of evil 6 : modern bioterrorism warfare ( Resident evil 6)

I hate all you Americans who can go out and rent RE6 to see if it's garbage or not. The last place where I live to rent games has decided to call it quits and is no longer in the business. My hope now is to go to my buddy's place (manager at a game store) and try it out seeing as he will for sure get this game.

Yeah, London Ontario sucks for game rentals too. Blockbuster went under and most of the Rogers are shuttering their rental businesses. There is a Jumbo Video, but it isn't close to where I live (I have to bus around town).

Yeah that's the same thing here in Ottawa. Blockbuster closed in the fall and Rogers is done with game and video rentals. No Jumbo Video anywhere near where I work or live so... yeah. Going to try out the site Fox sent me. For $10 yeah I'll rent RE6!

There is a place near my house that has new games for half their retail price about a week after they come out. However, I don't trust where they get the games from.

I was playing RE1 on GCN as Jill, and God damn did I suck... I sucked so bad I just had to use the Grenade Launcher glitch until I got reacquainted with the old control schemes, etc. That and I didn't want my wife bored to death watching me play. I'm sure I'll have better luck with Chris since he doesn't die in like 1 zombie bite.

Good luck. I can breeze through the PS1 version of RE 1 with Jill, but have trouble with Chris. Except this one time I got through most of the game in an hour but forgot to save and died. :-(

I've been trying to get through Code Veronica HD and those giant moths can be a pain simply because of their poison. I'm nearing the end as Claire and should start with Chris soon. The only thing that bugs me about the game is that it pretty much ignores all of the great things RE 3 added. I really would have enjoyed a dodge and weapon mixing system. The game sorta feels like an updated RE 1 than RE 2 or 3. It's still a great game and the story is actually really good (save for some moments and some funny voice acting).

Yeah but Chris only gets 6 item slots which gets to be a pain when you need several items just to solve one puzzle. Expect to do a lot of box runs.

Unless you have a gameshark so you can play as Jill in Chris' game.

Yes, the game does use zombies, but their actions are pretty much from RE 4 and 5. That's kinda a bummer, because I assumed that using zombies meant that they were going to just return to their unintelligent forms without the usage of weapons.

Also, I didn't make the connection until now, but Ada Wong is that lady from the trailer and probably the main bad guy. That sucks too. And Chris is supposed to be scarred from a previous event and more pessimistic. Great.

Looking forward to it less and less after each announcement.

Also, dang it, Demon Gate. :-(

so basically the bad guys are ganados / manjini with a zombie skin slapped on them.

now you can move and shoot, take cover, and dive through the air and fire while sliding across the ground on your back?

they are ruining chris's character even more than 5 already has .

they are changing ada's character and why not, they fucked wesker and jill now fuck ada too!

Sweet zombie jesus, what the fuck are they thinking? why in the hell do they keep taking RE so damn far from, well from resident evil, its like they realize any new IP will just fail so they gather up all their ideas for new games and slap them into one giant shit pile of a game, throw in some RE characters and voila, its RE6!

I can see the end of this game already. . . . we will get to see Chris punching 2 boulders , 1 with each hand, then he will dry hump a toppled sky scraper out of his way , all this will take place in a space volcano on the moon with no real good explanation how or why they are on the moon.

:verymad:

It's okay because Ada will now be a busty blond in a skin tight catsuit but it's because she had been kept in a secret lab and science shit happened to make her that way.

It's a shame they didn't make any Resident Evil games after the 4th.
