Current Thoughts?

fuck walmart, there are like 80,000 check outs with only 2 open being operated by 90 year old ladies who have 2 speeds - mega slow and death warmed over.

I was at Games Plus and made a comment that they didn't seem to have a lot of retro stuff lately (they have shifted more towards current gen and movies.)

I was told that yesterday someone walked in and bought $1000 worth of SNES stuff and pretty much cleaned them out. Wow.

haha was feeling a bit of the old EQ grind burnout so taking some time off, planing on coming back with my regular bunch of guys I play with in a week or 2, might sell off everything on all my chars and roll something new, maybe a war, I miss EQ tanking.

So happy the NHL playoffs are finally here!! Great games last night and lots of upsets! Hoping for another one tonight when my 8th-seeded Ottawa Senators take on the 1st-seeded New York Rangers!! My car is decked out in Sens stickers, flags and I'm wearing one of my jersey's at work! GO SENS GO!!

I am so glad to see that Board Gaming is finally getting some good video series. However, it is absolutely amazing to me that one of them is actually on...G4? Yeah, I'm amazed that channel still exists...

First up, we have 'Table Top' which is hosted by Will Wheaton and is best described as 'Celebrity Poker' style where geeky celebrities play Board Games. It is incredibly fun and really enjoyable for a 30 Minute Program.

Next up, we have 'Game Night' which is hosted by Rich Sommer who is on Mad Men and has a Board Game collection of over 300 games. His program is much shorter as it is only 5 minutes long, but he highlights 2 Board Games and 1 'Digital' Board Game during each episode. It is a tiny segment on Attack of the Show and the best thing they have put out in years!

It is absolutely great to hear people talking about awesome Board Games. I own/have played Small World, Ticket to Ride, The Resistance & Pandemic. But, I now totally want 7 Wonders, Quarriors & Confusion.

There is construction on the roof of my apartment building. It is directly above my bedroom. I was not amused when they started at 7am.

Oooh, very impressive! It is so nice and hard to find good sites about Board Gaming. Obviously, BoardGameGeek is probably the only site you need, but it is nice to see something else and I like the visual style that Board to Death has as it makes explaining games that much easier.

Also, I have only got angered at a reviewer's score only a few times. It bothers me when I hear a reviewer bash a game and throw in a line like, "I really don't like RTS' and that is why Civilization sucks..." Video or Board Games, I watch reviewers for the content and to see if the game would be interesting. Scores are very arbitrary and it would be nice to have another source for Board Games.

My city has a few places to buy Board Games. One is a dedicated store and it is the best. Another, rather ironically, is a chain of comic book stores that have a very nice selection. So, every now and then, I get to be with a bunch of comic book nerds and buy some board games or go to a dedicated store and watch them play their Friday Night Magic.
