Changing them to aliens do influence the direction of the film as opposed to mutants. For one, I am pretty sure they'll do the getting used to a new setting deal they usually do with intergalactic species visiting Earth and whatnot. But the aliens aren't my biggest gripe, it's that Michael Bay is involved (thank God he's not directing). I thought the first Transformers was pretty fun for the first few times, but it grew kinda dull. Tried watching the second and third one, but couldn't. I just don't think Michael Bay is a good filmmaker and him behind a property I enjoy is something that makes me wary.

What that man does to film is just plain criminal. He deserves a more painful death than even I can imagine for him.

I just hope he doesn't get involved with Thundercats also. :S

As a huge TMNT fan...I feel indifferent about it. How lazy could you be that you need to change the mythos of the series just so you can build around it?

It's cool in a way that movies like this would introduce our childhood to a new generation. And again, It's a reason for Michael Bay to re-use Transformers footage...saves him a couple thousand lol.

I've seen this same and equally pathetic song and dance on several other forums now, and it's just getting very annoying. We get it, Bay made the Transformer films and people didn't like them, now stop shouting that he "RAPED MY CHILDHOOD" or other such overreactions. Just don't see the damn movie and stay with the source material, it's not going anywhere.

Seriously though, the only reason I see to complain is because Bay is a bad director. I don't particularly cared for the altering of their characters (mostly because I didn't grow up to them), but more because it wasn't all that entertaining, even for a popcorn movie. That and people have to let their fanboyism go. Yeah, at first, you won't help it, but you have to come back to it, take those nostalgia glasses off and look at it by itself.

But I won't be so hasty to judge whether this will turn out bad or not. He could surprise me for all I know, it's too early to say.

It's dumb, not too worried, don't think it'll make money. Movin' along now.
