Never really though about a 'third' timeline that suggested the Hero of Time actually was defeated being canon, which I guess is an interesting way in which they tied most of the 'older' titles from the nes/snes/gameboy era. Odd placement of 4 Sword Adventures after Twilight, I haven't played it though. It'll be interesting to see where the new titles find themselves in this 'official' timeline (so far, at least)

It's translated into English from the Japanese 'hyrule historia' that Nintendo released which is a huge artbook/collectors item that includes a timeline, can't get pretty more official then that

To be honest, I've really never cared much to figure out the "official" timeline of the Zelda games, mainly because it became clear a long time ago it was jacked. I stopped trying around Majora's Mask.

How the hell can they not? They're only a complete continuous story if you link them together though... But if you do it's pretty damn clear that they happen right after each other (why would they be in separate timelines if it's like this!?!), what can be debated about them is what timeline they're in and which of the two games come first.

But I wouldn't say there's any doubt of them belonging in the same timeline.

My view of the Zelda Timeline is it split at OoT. Link defeats Ganon but Zelda plays the ocarina this thus link goes back to the past and travels to Termina and never defeats Gannon. But the timeline somehow remains where Link defeated Gannon and continues. Also in my opinion Link's Awaking should be some time after the Wind Waker timeline because Link was at sea but I doubt Nintendo would put it in that order. Besides LA came before WW in creation

EDIT: CD-I Games I guess exist in Bizarro world you know the alternate universe in Superman. :fire:

My view on the Zelda time is.... I just don't care. They're their own games with their own stories so I don't even bother trying to tie them together. I think people get way too obsessed over things like this. Chill out and just enjoy playing the game.

I'm a huge Zelda fan, but I haven't been interested in the timeline since OOT. They all seem better as separate isolated games IMHO.

some games are hit or miss. and it also depends on the TV or whatever you are using. im thinking its based on the model 1 because the powerbase converter works on it. I had the same impression about the fact that its only using the snes as a power supply. at least the av cords that come with it appear to be a quality purchase

I still want to know why they failed to add Legend of the Mystical Ninja starring Goemon in their timeline. Since it was and is still the best 3D Zelda game of all time, objectively.
