Forum rules

Rules

1. All normal forum rules apply.

2. NO JOKES! This isn't the topic for funny pictures or wise ass remarks.

3. Serious topics need to be well thought out when written, they also need to have well thought out replies. Please try to write more than a single sentence. Back up your opinion with facts or something else.

4. Keep a cool and calm head, especially about things such as politics, gay rights, religion, etc. People are allowed to have differing opinions than you, please don't view them as personal attacks, please don't start any sort of major drama or get all offended here. In the end, we're all friends still.

5. Use common sense when posting in here, which simply means ask yourself if this is something really worth posting, are you intentionally being mean to someone, if your topic is ridiculously controversial (IE. Baby Eating), are you accidentally bashing Christianity on Easter Day, etc.

6. In your posts, please try to clarify whether you're speaking based on fact or personal experiences as it will lead to less misunderstandings. Please do not state opinions as if they were facts without proof to back it up.

7. NO DRUNK POSTING.

Failure to comply with any of these rules (additional rules may be added in the future as needed) will result in a warning or perhaps a banning from the 'Why So Serious?' sub-forum. The severity of the punishment works in tandem with the severity of your actions.

Was just about to post this here, didn't think it'd be posted so soon. I personally see the politically ramifications, specifically within the Asia-Pacific regions with China's relationship the most affected by this, I don't know how America will or has reacted but I know Australia will be watching closely since we're in the same region of the Asia-Pacific, I would be wary of possible military 'tests' or 'shows of strength' similar to when Kim Jong Il first consolidated his rule, and with recent tensions with South Korea as well.

I greatly fear for the people of the nation too, they are one of the most oppressed populations and the stories behind some of their concentration camps is terrifying, including that those found to be 'traitors' to the nation, are sent to concentration camps along with their entire families as well. There entire economic state and infrastructure is crippled and has been for a prolonged time and greatly dependent on China, so I know I'll be watching closely how this situation develops

Wow, the crying is just surreal. You really get a sense of the state religion formed around a mythos that Kim Jong Il built for himself for such emotion to be drawn from the populaiton. However, I don't see the course of North Korea changing. Kim Jong Un is Kim Jong Il basically. He is his father's son. Even though very little is known about Un, I don't see him ruling much different from his father... meaning he'll probably be just as batshit insane.

North Korea is still dangerous to the security of the world and even more so because what little stability it had is in question.

Il's not pinin'! Il's passed on! This dictator is no more! He has ceased to be! Il's expired and gone to meet 'is maker! Il's a stiff! Bereft of life, he rests in peace! Il's metabolic processes are now history! Il's off the twig! Il's kicked the bucket, Il's shuffled off his mortal coil, run down the curtain and joined the bleedin' choir invisibile!! THIS IS AN EX-DICTATOR!!

Too bad he's got a successor.

People have already said my thoughts, so I might as well post here to acknowledge that I've read this interesting piece of news.

I hope his son/successor will make Korea's relations with the world better.

As it stands, that isn't going to happen. The world has no idea who this kid is, and his succession has been prepared for many years as he is now surrounded by veterans of the Kim government.
