Sure is nice to have a goalie that can steal a game the way Lundqvist did last night. :mah:

I wish my team had one of those... going to be a long year for us Sens fans I think.

The Rangers may just have the best goaltending tandem in the league. Lundqvist gets all the attention because he's the star, but Biron is one damn good backup. He played really well in Winnipeg last night, and could probably be a starter elsewhere.

I'm kicking ass out of the gate in this pool. I wonder how long that will last.

I'm sitting in second place and first in my division so I'm happy. Even with Crosby on the IR... not too bad.

My world no longer makes sense! Leafs are at the top of the conference...

Anyways, even though the Sens had a 6 game win streak recently I still expect it to be a rough year. I have to say though in all but 2 games (the two huge blowouts) they've been very competitive and the games have been very entertaining to watch. Especially the third periods where they seem to always mount some huge comeback! If this is a rebuild year I look forward to the future!

Since giving back a 4-1 third period lead against the Senators eight days ago, the Rangers have won four straight, beating the Sharks, Ducks, Canadiens, and Jets. Niemi letting in five last Monday didn't do me any favors in the pool this week, but I can live with that.

So Sevens... how did it feel to have my girlfriend kick your ass in the pool last week?

And hold the presses everyone... Crosby's coming back to play tonight...

Ouch...that was pretty bad. Still on top of my division, though, so I'm okay for now.

That didn't do you any favors, either. Take a look at the standings. :teehee:

I'll see you next week.

The stupid trade I made in the pool to pick up Lethonen and clear up some roster space for Crosby didn't officially go through until today so I couldn't take him off IR... and he has a 4 point night... life hates me sometimes.

I will see you next week, and be prepared to be crushed!! Even though as of last night my girlfriend's in first place in the pool... kinda sad really... I hope at least one of my goalies gets on a roll as they have been TERRIBLE for me this year where as last year goaltending was the reason I was on top for so long.

Fuck yeah Letang! Say whatever stupid shit you want about "zomgz Sid is back in Montreal!" or whatever, but the dude got his face broke by a shoulder charge and then comes back in overtime to get the winning goal, that right there is awesome.

Also, speaking of a winning goal, or rather the controversy of it all, I only saw like 2/3rds of the game, but it seemed like the refs sucked ass at making calls on all sides.

I can tell you my girlfriend is loving Letang. Him and Karlsson for Ottawa are money in the bank defencemen for points this year and she has both in our hockey pool... hence why she's in first place... I think forcing her to watch all this hockey over the years has really rubbed off on her.

I would like to say I wasn't a fan of Sid's flying elbows to Nick Foligno during the Sens vs Pens game on Friday. Dude, you were out for almost a year from a head injury... maybe you should watch your elbows so you don't do the same thing to someone else.

Rangers last three games: Capitals, Flyers, Penguins.

Results: 6-3 win, 2-0 win, 4-3 win.

4th in the East in points, but #1 in the league in win percentage.

Nice!

Sens are doing a hell of a lot better now and are in a dogfight for that 8th spot, which is way better than what anyone expected them to do and they're entertaining to watch. I have to say, I liked Zack Smith last year for his potential but man this year he's such a clutch player. Actually our third line, the kid line of all first full year players has simply been amazing. I am very hopeful and we still have kids like Zibanejhad, Lehner, Stone etc. still on the way.

I now see why my first two weeks were big wins. It's not that my team is good, it's that's theirs are worse. Smoke and mirrors, I guess.

Then again, the Rangers have won five straight and 12 of their last 14. If they keep that up, you can have all the points you want in this pool. :mah:

Yeah, I don't know if I like it. Same teams over and over and over. Going to get sick of listening to Leafs/Habs fans whenever we play them in the playoffs... eventually.

Richards is a very underrated player, if that makes sense. All the talk of Crosby, the Sedins, Stamkos etc. Brad Richards usually gets lost in the mix but he's really a fantastic player. Should have been on Canada's Olympic team but whatever.

So, Kyle Turris from Phoenix for David Runblad from Ottawa. Don't know how I feel about this. Yes the Sens need a good second line center this year but in the next year or two we have Zibanejhad who really impressed me in the pre season, just is way too young to play this season (18 years old) and Da Costa in the minors who is a year or so away ready for the big times. Smith has solidified himself in the middle of the third line and we have Konopka and Winchester rotating in the fourth spot. Someone's going to need to learn how to play on the wing I think.

Runblad also has incredible skill, but also is not ready for the big times. He's got amazing flashes of brilliance. For example:

But he's also a huge defensive liability as he's learning the North American can on the fly (he was player of the year in the Swedish Elite League last year). Not sure if I'm ok with giving him away for another center who may help us get to the playoffs this year, but may get lost in the mix in the next couple.

Oh and for the hockey pool... I am so screwed. Crosby, Giroux and Michalek, all out with concussions... awesome...
