Released on the very awesome date of 11/11/11 this has to be one of the greatest RPG's ever produced, Bethesda has brought everything great about Fallout 3 and New Vegas into the Elder Scrolls and streamlined most of what came from Oblivion.

So far I'm an hour or so into it and already have sidetracked from the main quest into side quests at Riverwood.

Post your own thoughts of the game below!

 this is exactly what I was hoping it would be.

I am driving home 500 miles tomorrow, but first thing saturday morning I am picking this up and diving into it head first.

The 'perk' system is one of the most aesthetically pleasing layouts I've seen. I forgot to mention I'm playing it on the 360 not the PC version so if people want to give there thoughts on their own version too. Shame I won't experience the amazing mod support this game will get!

Also, here's Destructoid's great video review

All you had to say was it took the best parts of Fallout 3 and New Vegas and I was sold! Sadly, no time or money to pick it up so Í'm hoping I get it for xmas or it will be cheap on Boxing Day sales.

the physics are grand!
i like it a lot, but to me its not an rpg like the way they used to be but it works out well. to many things to buff up actually going into the menu to select level up? its hella fun though killed 4 giants already and reached level 7. just beat the 1st dragon and boy howdy was it epic.

i will leave behind a short clip i created that made this game of the year for me.

I'm 16 hours in and I feel like I've barely scratched the surface.I killed some dragons, went to mage school and became a thief. Now to find the Dark Brotherhood!

If it's the Brotherhood you seek, find Aventus Aretino in Windhelm, and help him with his... business.

I am loving this game, but I keep feel like I am doing something wrong. I feel like I keep coming across harder enemies, but I am not getting stronger offensively or defensively. I can't seem to find better weapons other than the one I got earlier in the game. I've been dying and reloading a lot.

What kind of character are you playing? I haven't had any probs like that with sneaking/arrows and one handed/shield. It's also good to get an npc to help out/and or use blacksmithing to improve weapons/armor. I'm level 18 and like ~30 hours in.

I'm using a Imperial magic user/warrior. I'm using mainly one-armed weapons and changing between different kinds of magic with my other hand. After my last post I did seem to find a better weapon. Also I should've paid a little more attention to the heavy armor perks. I didn't notice the 20% boost you get from the first perk. I'm currently level 14.

I've been kind of ignoring the blacksmithing a little because it seemed like any time I would improve my equipment it would only add one point of improvement. Perhaps there is a perk I didn't notice under the smithing skill that increases that.

I'm currently rolling with Enchanting, archery and destruction/conjuration. Archery is probably the most valuable skill I have right now.
I also managed to snag 3 companions at one time which really helps with those pesky dragons 8)

I've been maxing out my smithing and enchanting so I can create the best armour available which at currently 85 is dwarven for me, but I can also create glass armour (working up to 100 for Dragon armour) and I've become head of the companions and got the skyforge sword you get when you are inducted into it, and improved it to 'epic' making it 50 damage, then dual wielding with a quest glass sword that does 50 as well (makes killing dragons easy!) I tend to use one-handed and shield but dual wielding two powerful swords means I don't often need a shield, currently at level 28 as well and only just got the elder scrolls

On a fun note, Skyrim if it were made for N64 or Playstation!
