I know Doctor Who is on it's Mid-season break, but I don't think we need to derail this into a Torchwood thread. It's an entity all it's own, maybe give it it's own thread. . . stop getting me excited in thinking people are posting Doctor Who(Non-Spinoff) relelvent shit !! :-?

But we talked about Sarah Jane Smith Adventures not that long ago... this is sort of the go to thread for all Who & Spin-Off related discussions. :p

Torchwood: Miracle Day's latest episode was good. The one where the government sanctions these new categories (One, two, three)

A very interesting twist, though at some level I did see it coming. I don't know, Miracle Day is good and all, but it's missing that Children of Earth level of greatness. Sure, the deep stuff is there, but it's missing the tension and the drama.

Honestly, that was the best piece of acting I've seen Matt Smith do yet. xD

Let's Kill Hitler thoughts:

Spoiler
Holy balls, are we there already? Are we really at the beginning of River Song? If The Doctor goes from her end to her beginning, then are we nearing the end of her run? Gosh... I don't even want to go there.

I am glad to see how come River didn't regenerate at the end of the Doctor's first meeting with her.

Though I am a bit perplexed as to why The Doctor didn't fill Rory and Amy in about that he knew about his death. The Doctor is a smart man, so I have no doubt that he already figured everything out about that ...

I didn't really like Let's Kill Hitler too much.

I mean, Hopefully it'll be one of those situations I can look back at after the series is over and appreciate it, but for now, It was just.. meh.

Oh god, it's going to be one of those "Drag out a single story into what feels like infinity" seasons, isn't it? I miss being able to watch any episode and not having to catch up on 4 episodes worth of back-story.

This, this, this, this ,this, THIS! I was just discussing this same point with a buddy earlier. He was like, Most shows are like that (then named all the shows I talk about regularly.) and I said, "But this is DOCTOR WHO!" and besides where does it say that All shows need to be alike to be good?

"Regeneration's disabled"? I still don't get that, the little Amy 'voice controller' thing said it, is that possible?
Loved the "guilt" references to Rose, Martha and Donna, pretty sure that's the first time any of them have been directly referenced in this series which was a nod to Davis I suppose.

Felt the exposition on River and tying up some loose ends came off as rushed, felt it need more time and the end came off as really rushed, and as for the second half of the series build up to the "Doctor's Death", feel like it will become a constant occurring theme that we think the Doctor had died but can't until, well, the finale I suppose.

Was a good episode at least, want to see River again soon though, hope it's not solely until the finale

Lucrious, they mention the other companions (and show them) multiple times very early on in the last season, although those scenes got cut down, they're on the internets. They even went so far as to reference the much older companions who aren't even part of the new series.

Spoiler
Yeah, Let's Kill Hitler was very story oriented, I suspect they wanted to bring people in on a "recap" of everything in case they had forgotten. This week's episode was awesome and entirely devoid of any real main plot stuff though, which was nice. There needed to be more Hitler in the episode, but, ohwell, still really enjoyable.

Oh damn, I completely forgot about the web short with the Doctor and Amy that referenced them all, my bad, I'd only been thinking of the main episode's of the series recently.

And as for "Night Terror's" great episode, and really loved some of the dialogue from Smith as always. Can't wait for next week now too!

Oh, wow. What an episode. Absolutely fantastic episode that is definitely one of my favorites. The depth in the Old Amy character was stunning and beautiful whilst the interaction between Rory and the Doctor in the end was just ... phenomenal.

Torchwood finale thoughts:

Spoiler
Rex @ Blessing: =D
Rex @ Blessing: ;_;
Rex @ Ending: :D
Rex @ Ending: D:
Rex @ Ending: D:

But seriously, a very spectacular ending in terms of action and story. It wraps up many storylines with class and leaves us with a nice and solid cliffhanger for more.

I enjoyed the Torchwood miniseries, but it did drag on and elaborate on parts that weren't important by the end of the series and tried to wrap the major part of the series up in 2 episodes. By the 5th episode we should've known what was up, and then spend more time elaborating.

Past 2 Doctor Who episodes were great. Last episode was VERY unexpected. I don't expect it to be longlasting though, maybe for a few episodes until the finale or the "specials".

In regards to 'The God Complex', great episode in of itself, and loved towards the end the minotaur beasts comments and then "I wasn't talking about myself", there's been the constant theme of impending death this whole half so came as expected. As for leaving Amy and Rory, it's pretty clear they'll return in the finale, there not leaving but they may take less of a prominant role next series, maybe, maybe not. But as for next week, looking forward to seeing a more prominant return of the cybermen, should be good. And the finale and all I've seen preview wise, sounds more insane than 'Big Bang 2' was, should be great.
