REDLINE
is the toughest race in the galaxy
is ten times faster then F-Zero
is more dangerous then anybody can imagine
is not welcome on ROBOWORLD
is filled with the most memorable characters
is a race in which you want to root for everybody
is in a galaxy populated by very diverse alien races
is beautifully animated the whole way through
is clear why it took seven years to make
isn't an assault on the senses, it's a fucking war on them
is a love story between man and his need to win
is about nothing more then the race, for the race is life
is pure adrenaline in the last 45 minutes
is the ultimate climax
is something that needs to be seen

REDLINE
was worth two years waiting for

Here's hoping there's actual talent voicing it and not some guy doing seven different characters with the same grunt.

MADHOUSE. More importantly it's directed by Takeshi Koike, and is his first feature film. The only other notable thing he's directed was the World Record short for the Animatrix, but the impressive thing is that it took seven years to make because much of it was drawn by hand.

I dunno if there'll be dubbing or not (the Japanese Blu-ray/DVD is out now, while the UK Blu-ray/DVD is coming out in November. I dunno about the American release date), but it's prolly better if you watch it in Japanese with subtitles anyways. Granted, though, sometimes there's so much going on the screen that you forget to read them, but the dialogue isn't THAT important.

Most of the anime and stuff I get through Netflix or their streaming service ... and I don't really have a say over which audio they use. I prefer original audio with subs, of course, but they don't generally use them ... just for anime though, most of their streamed foreign flicks are subtitled.

oh geez, netflix

to be honest it never occurred to me that some foreign films could have english dubbing until I decided to try and watch Oldboy on it :|

even more frustrating is that it looks like you can choose to change audio/add subtitles now, but unfortunately most of the time the only option is english

another interesting tidbit: TRAVA: Fist Planet, done by the same people and director, is a side story of sorts (although made way back in 2003), featuring two of the side characters in REDLINE. Unfortunately, only one episode was made (split into four parts), and only a preview for episode 2 was released. I'm guessing the second episode never got made because they were focusing on the movie. still, it's worth a watch.

A little late to the party, but hey, I checked it out. Final verdict? Visually eye-popping and full of juicy explosions with some loveable characters. It's a must watch for anybody who loves anime for everything that it is. Whether it's giant mechs, busty anime chicks, fast paced action, pure bizzaro, giant monsters, you name it this movie has got it.

ONLY DOWN SIDE.

Spoiler
Dat ending yo. How Anti-Climatic was that?
