I'm one of the people who's happy that Mega Man X isn't in the game. Zero already fills the role much better and has an awesome sword.

On DLC. I don't know why they are making DLC costumes when they still have months until the release date. Also, if you preorder the game, you get costumes for a few characters like STARS Wesker and Cyber Akuma.

I learned my lesson. Never buy a Capcom game when its first released. Just wait for the better version a year later with some of the DLC in it. And as for MvC 3, I'll just ignore their DLC crap when I use my refunded money to buy UMvC 3 and enjoy what I have instead of worrying about their crap.

There is a world of difference between releasing DLC late and 'Oh well I guess we just HAVE to re-release this game again ;D'


I'm sure people will then say what is being added in the Ultimate edition justifies a new release. But to be frank, the only thing people give a shit about are the characters. Which could've been released in a few DLC installments.

Sure it's nice for people who don't own the game, but the people who want these characters already have the game. Transparent cash grab on Capcom's part.

most DLC is done that way. its what they do. im not stupid. they probably had this game done the same time as the origional was done. same with the street fighter games. i dont doubt it for a second.

Here's what I think after reading trends and whatnot. An average game has a lifespan of 2 years give or take. 2 years with DLC, a year if you release it like Madden or CoD. This is Capcom, they don't have the annual game release. So, the secret is to give your games life support. Aside from the regular Megaman, Monster Hunter and Resident Evil, they release loads of fighters.

The whole deal with fighters is to unlock certain characters and add some as they go. This will be the ideal MK route. So, instead of treating future updates as a patch they treat it more or less an Expansion pack. Greedy sonuvabitches? YES. But they add content anyways so for them it all checks out. This is gonna be bad for MVC3 though, if they do it too early people will just get mad. The least they could offer are 5-15$ updates for early adopters.

I'm actually so happy I did not buy the original MvC3 for this. Frank West has sold me. Oh, and Wright as well.

I'm gonna pull a Dylan and not buy this until Gene gets put in this game.

That one is a tad different, actually.

Two games are being made. One uses the SSF4 style and is from Capcom, but the other uses the Tekken style and is being made by Namco. If there will be other versions, it would most likely be just like with the SNK Vs series where another version of 2 came out on the Gamecube with special c-stick shoortcuts and nothing else.

I wouldn't be so sure after how they handled the Vs SNK series. Really, it was only the EO Gamecube port I remember being another version, but it only added that C-stick gimmick.

But also keep in mind that Namco will start teasing Tekken X Street Fighter right after Street Fighter X Tekken is released, so I'm sure that Namco wouldn't appreciate it if Capcom was churning out another version while they're teasing their own game. So I expect DLC, like AE, at the most.

I want a good character to appear in this game.

We got Vergil, Phoenix Wright and Rocket Raccoon. That's more than good.

In all honesty, Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is a GOOD GAME. I always say it sucks because of one thing- the character roster. We have been waiting 10+ years for this shit to come out and they put out one of the most disappointing rosters out there. There are no fan favorites. There are no characters that make you say "Oh! I need this game now!"

They took out the majority of the characters in this game that people gave a shit about, and gave you even shitter ones. Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 KIND OF makes up for it, they have a good selection for 12 characters. I did not buy the original MvC3, but with the updated roster in the new one, I am satisfied. Capcom did well this time.
