For the sake of all the lovely graphic artists on this forum and in G.E.A.R. we've got a really swell little list of important resources that some of you may or may not know about.
Also, if anyone has any resources that they want to add to the list, just let me know and I'll edit this post.
And as always, CREDIT WHEN ASKED. Read all of the artist's policies before downloading anything; it'll save everyone a world of trouble.
MULTI-RESOURCE SITES
AbsoluteCross: an excellent resource for all graphic artists everywhere; has tutorials for Photoshop and Flash, and even a handful of Paint Shop Pro tutorials; also has downloadable textures and templates
Aethereality.Net: .png's, brushes, textures, and tutorials for Photoshop and Paint Shop pro; also boasts a huge image gallery of anime, manga, game, and original artwork
Aun Existe Amor: a gorgeous Photoshop resource site with brushes, textures, tutorials and fonts; has a very beautiful layout too
Celestial Star: brushes, patterns, textures, renders, and tutorials for Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro; also has a search function
GraficaMente: brushes, textures, and templates for Photoshop
HIDDENCACHE: a great image resource with wallpapers, high-quality scans, and screencaps; also has some very nice sets of Photoshop brushes and a lovely layout to boot
HYBRID GENESIS: brushes, textures, patterns, and tutorials for Photoshop; one of my favorite graphic websites of all time and highly recommended
Mint Tea Graphics: brushes, templates, and tutorials for Paint Shop Pro
Obsidian Dawn: brushes, patterns, and tutorials for Photoshop; very unique layout too, I like~
The Photoshop Roadmap: a great resource for Photoshop users; has tutorials, brushes, and other downloads for the masses; also has a search function
TUTORIALS
Good-Tutorials: has tutorials for CSS, Flash, HTML, Illustrator, JavaScript, Photoshop, PHP, Ruby, Ruby on Rails, and 3ds Max; also has a search function
GrafX Design: tutorials for Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, and other applications can be found here, along with Animation tutorials; also has a search function
Kirupa.Com: has some very useful video tutorials for Photoshop, Flash, and other applications; also has a search option
N-sane Art: a great personal site with some very useful tutorials
Photoshop Tutorials Blog: a blog full of Photoshop tutorials ranging from animation to text effects; also has a search function; most recent update was February 2007
Pinoy7: a lovely site with Paint Shop Pro and animation tutorials; also has a search function
Planet Photoshop: a Photoshop-centric site with many tutorials; also has a search function and links to other useful Photoshop-related sites
PSP Tutorial Links: just like the title says, a ridiculously long list of Paint Shop Pro tutorials; also has a search function as well as user ratings for each of the sites listed
Screaming Art Designs: has some very lovely tutorials for Photoshop 5.5 and 6.0, but hasn't been updated in forever [last update was September 2005]
Tutorialized: has tutorials for Fireworks, Flash, Gimp, Illustrator, Paint Shop Pro, and Photoshop, along with tutorials for 3-D artwork and web-design; also has a search function
STOCK IMAGES - CREDIT AS IS APPROPRIATE
Advanced Anime: a website where members post images of anime girls to be rated; please to note that members many steal images from artists and post them without permission, so CHECK AND MAKE SURE YOU KNOW WHO THE IMAGE IS BY and it is always best to CONTACT THE ARTIST before you right-click and save - it'll save you a world of potential trouble with the artist
age fotostock: a members-only website with high-quality stock photos
Anime Project Alliance Gallery: a great site full of scans from various anime/manga and games
AnimeWallpapers.com: anime and game wallpapers for the masses
Artless: a lovely site hosted by Lora [loramir @ lj.com] with her high-quality screencaps from various movies
Boyis.com: anime, game, and other CG wallpapers for the masses; also has a very cool original renders section that make for some very interesting textures
Creative Uncut: a really great website full of images from video games; generally very high quality
deviantART: FIRST AND FOREMOST, before you take and use the art from the artists at devART, you must ASK FOR PERMISSION from the ORIGINAL ARTIST; please try to avoid stealing artwork! This goes for people requesting sigs!
Kawaii Screen: anime wallpapers for the masses
Love In a Tank ___ visualATTRACTION: many many high-quality scans of many many JPOP/ROCK, CPOP/ROCK, and KPOP/ROCK artists; it's love
Minitokyo: a members-only website with high quality anime/manga/game wallpapers and scans
Nishiki-e: a gallery full of pretty CG artwork, featuring artists such as Nao Goto, Koge Donbo, and Aoi Nanase, known for their pretty pictures of anime girls
Punchstock: a members-only website with high-quality stock photos
Reflective Perspective: a growing anime/manga/game gallery with many high-quality scans
stock.xchng: a members-only website with high-quality stock photos; a personal favorite
Planet Renders: all sorts of-- you guessed it, renders! Pre-cut images of a variety of images; from cars, to anime, to gaming. Useful for creating signatures with your own custom background. Also sports good C4D's.
Anime Paper: Stock Anime Scans.
BRUSHES
500ml Brushes: a large collection of brushes for Photoshop with diverse subject matter ranging from handwriting to fabric to vintage objects
ANGELIC-TRUST.NET: a collection of mainly abstract brushes [swirls, squiggles, dotprints, etc.] for Photoshop
DARKWAIF PHANTASY GALLERY: incredibly diverse Photoshop brushes with subject matter ranging from the cute to the macabre
Digital Goodies: a collection of brushes for both Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro, a rarity if nothing else; also has some very lovely masks
Echoica: a large collection of very pretty brushes; also has a stock image gallery of the artist's photography
Encre: very unique brushes [unique as in ballerina-feet-and-spider-webs unique] for Photoshop from a very pretty website [/love/ the current splash page]
Juuichi: a respectably sized collection with a wide selection of Photoshop brushes; also has some lovely wallpapers and blends that are incredibly inspirational
Kiss My Pixels: incredibly cute brushes [disney, hello kitty, florals, swirls, etc.] for both Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro
Lush Brushes: a great brush site for Paint Shop Pro; I particularly like the set with female silhouettes
SOULGARDEN: very intricate and pretty brushes for Photoshop; the vintage sets are especially beautiful and great for painting unique backgrounds
Studio Brushes: a growing collection of brushes for Photoshop; all though there are few sets, the brushes are very unique and worth a look or two
Vanilla Design: gorgeous brushes for Photoshop sorted by catagory; a personal favorite with a lovely layout as well
vbrush: another great brush resource for Photoshop users; also has a brush search engine that consists of brushes for Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, and Gimp; a must for all graphic artists everywhere
VOID brushes: a large collection of Photoshop brushes; very diverse and a very beautiful and another must-see
TEXTURES
Textura: a lovely collection of textures for the masses; also has a pretty brush set and some stock textures
PATTERNS
Squidfingers: patterns for Photoshop
Pattern-Bomb: patterns for Photoshop
Citrusmoon: patterns for Photoshop; has a few broken links, but otherwise is fully functional
