Snagged this at a microcenter the other day thinking it was a good buy. If the dull blade, and shoddy construction of the shaft weren't bad enough, MINIMAL pressure cause the blade to snap off, and turn my index finger into a fountain of blood.

I've used these things before with no problem, but this is inexcusable. It's shoddy and dangerous, and shouldn't be on shelves.

Thanks to Darkseid, which I never thought I'd say without fear of Omega-beam death.

I have this hobby knife and have never had any issues with it. I've also got an Xacto brand knife and this has worked better. The blades it came with were sharper than the Xacto blades. They also, do need to be straightened before you use them and any hobby knife under too much pressure will snap.

I used this knife to do the outlines of those pumpkin carvings I showed here a couple years ago. It used up that blade, but it came with 5 more ... I'm only on the second blade still.
