Topic for fighting games, discussing how to improve, fave games and characters, ect.

Also, let's keep the more....heated discussions to a minimum. I just want to talk about fighting games, not get in huge fights about taste in said games.

So recently I've been addicted to Tekken 5. I'm trying to get back into the series and so far I think my favorite characters are Bryan and Auska. Bryan is just a muscular machine of destruction and real easy to use, while I like Auska's good mix of powerful high and low combos. I also really like Lee, it's easy to switch up combo patterns with him and keep an enemy guessing.

what makes this awesome is that for a ps game it had a cell shaded style and although they did have special attacks and whatnot, their ultra combos have this DDR/QTE style segment. (QTE in a fighting game before QTE!? WHAAAT!?)

anyways here's a vid although them players suck as fuck, you can pull off sick ass combos and counters if you're good enough. Crazy ass moves and characters too.

I wish developers would quit trying to shoehorn special guest characters that don't belong into fighting games into them. Soul Calibur, you're guilty of this.

Also, when is DOA Xtreme Lesiban Dating Sim 3 coming out?

The only fighting game I've been spending any time with recently is MK9 and I really like it ... I'm not really a heavy fighting game guy, pretty terrible at most of them. But I'd kinda like to learn some more ins and outs of this game so I can enjoy the whole thing.

I get where Olly comes from with guest characters. The issue is that they usually aren't that interesting. That said, I don't mind them when they work, like Link in SCII or Kratos in both MK9 and SCPortable. He makes sense in those games. Yoda and Darth Vader in Soul Calibur...not so much.

Personally, I'd like seeing Gene or Kenshiro in a Tekken game. Hey, a guy can dream.

I can't wait until Q-con this year, I'll probably spend half the time on the Tekken 5 arcade machine.

Tekken 5 is fucking sex. I'm glad they included the arcade modes of the first three games, made me realize just how amazing this game actually was. And 4 was just crap.

Wait you guys like Tekken 5 better? Lots of awesome sauce happening in the arcade scene where I'm at with Tekken 6.

Got DoA 3D in the mail today. Between this, Street Fighter, BluBlue next week and Punch Time the week after this is really like the go to place for fighters.

No, there's just no arcades around here and 5 is the only Tekken machine that Q-con has.

That reminds me, if Kratos can be put in the PS3 version of Mortal Kombat, you know who should be put in the 360 version?

He ain't no 360 exclusive character, son.

If MK9 got any exclusive fighter on 360 it should have been Conker.

I guess I sort of like fighters.









Kidding aside, I started playing Super Street Fighter IV for a little bit, and I am still horrible at it. The only characters I'm good with are Ryu, Ibuki, and Rose, and that's only because I played as them the most in the previous games of the series.

And Dark. Seth is worse than Jinpachi. Trust me.

4 is a bit under developed IMO, 5 changed the combo scheme a lot which made it easier. 6 is just a freaking juggle fest. If you game with timing and memorization, tekken is an awesome series.

On a different note SSFIV arcade edition just came out at the arcade in my area, I'm gonna try that shit out once I'm free.
