Oh sweet Jesus! I can't wait to see how this is gonna turn out. Blood Money on the 360 was just a straight port of the PS2 version, so I'm looking forward to seeing what they can do with the 360 and PS3's power.

Why in the world would you play a Hitman game on not-pc? It just doesn't make sense.

Cuz "PC gaming sucks and all you can do with a PC is play solitaire".

Haha seriously though that's a great question why would anyone not play it on the PC? I remember how awkward it was to play Hitman on the XBox.

Still I'm hoping the game is just awesome.

I can understand some other games ... but I can't understand Hitman on console. Everything is mouse menu oriented.

I am excited for the new game in any case. I wonder if they're going to dip their hand into coop assassinations!
One thing I've always wanted Hitman to move towards is a more dynamic world, where you could REALLY plan the hits however you liked, instead of just figuring out what they wanted you to do.

You just summed up everything I hate about this franchise. If you're not doing that one very specific route, then you're basically fucked if you don't run and gun.

Run and gun gets you fucked.

The game is made to be a logic puzzle, that's how you're supposed to play it.

With all that being said, Blood Money was MUCH more open than the previous games ... and more polished.

The first game was the worst offender of the "figure out what we want" routine. But I still enjoyed it. I also enjoyed screwing around in the levels, like getting the shotgun from the bar tender at the fish house and taking out BOTH gangs ... and witnesses.

The games are certainly a blast to screw around in, but sometimes trying to do the actual objectives (more so in the earlier games than the later ones) was sometimes impossible.

Oh fuck yeah, I forgot about this series. I'm was a big fan of Blood Money... actually, its the only Hitman game I've played completely. I breezed through it once I got the feel of the game down but goddamn it was fun. I could do without the whole clone backstory shit though. I know that's the main story of the game, but I'd almost rather his past remain mysterious and you just play the missions with a simple throwaway story arch linking the beginning to the end. It really takes me out of the whole experience every time they mention he's a clone.

I never tried it on PC. I felt the PS2 version was pretty solid though, the button mapping and controls were very intuitive for a game that required a lot of precision. It's not a total disaster like, say, Max Payne on consoles. Ugh, what a disappointment.

The clone stuff goes all the way back to the first game. (Blood Money is the fourth game) The first one is him finding most of this out, second is him trying to leave his past behind ... the third is sort of a fill in the blanks game. It takes place between various missions in the first two and in some past events you never played before.

Even so, I got caught up on the story thanks to youtube, and it feels really convoluted and unnecessary. I say fun game, terrible story. But, the story doesn't detract from the gameplay all that much because it barely factors into the core missions of the game.

That's what's nice about the first one. The story is only hinted at until later. Until then you're just doing various missions. The jungle missions are a pain in the ass though.

Not really, I get the kill, run and gun my way to a bottleneck and make a break for it once I'm in the clear.

Also, how is it logical that, even if you change clothes ten times when you're red flagged, the enemy will still know it's you when you show your face? Even though you are a giant, bald guy with a tattoo on your head that gets mistaken for one of their own no problem?

Because you're obviously bad at the game.
