This could be the big reason why we don't do anime episodes. Crickets ensue. ;-)

I've never seen Eva so...yeah, can't very well contribute much to the whole discussion  .

I will say though that I still enjoyed the episode. I'm sure some people get turned off by episodes about things they don't have knowledge of (could go for anything, not just YIBR) but I was into it. It got me interested in checking out the series/movies/whatever the hell else it is anyway. :-)

Though I have to admit, just from listening to the discussion and seeing the images, and reading a little bit of Wiki about what the series is about. I sort of got this vibe that maybe people are trying to read too much into it and that it IS just as simple as a "the apocalypse happened, everyone died, there's a new "Adam and Eve" or whatever".
But, like I said, never actually seen the thing myself so, just have to wait and see.

It makes itself too complex to be that simple. Glad you enjoyed it though.

Eva only interested me 'cause of Gendo.

But that discussion about the ending comes close too. :D

I sorta figured, like I said, never seen it. Will have to check it out (he said about the 10 billionth time about a series, though this one seems crazy enough that I may actually get to it quickly out of pure interest).

"I just don't they know what this character is" in reference to Moon Knight

Took the words out of my mouth. When Charlie Houston brought him back in 06(?) I thought the book was excellent. After he left (issue 13) the book kind of fell off with the Thunderbolts crossover. The stuff in Mexico was ok and Vengeance of Moon Knight wasn't bad. But this book makes it seem like none of that mattered at all, which was kind of a let down for me. No Frenchie. No NYC. No Marlene. Which I'm assuming they dropped the pregnancy storyline.

I will say though that the final panel twist was interesting, but does reveal too much. We now know Marc IS crazy because of the way its presented and it makes me feel that at anytime if the book goes too far they can pull a Dallas and make it all a delusion. It also makes it seem like he shouldn't be on Secret Avengers because he isn't mentally stable. It probably sounds like I didn't like it from all of this, but I thought all-in-all it was ok.

As for EVA: I made it about 5 episodes into it and realized it just wasn't for me. I got burnt out on anime a while back, but when I watched EVA it was at my anime peak; but I just couldn't connect with it. I never was one for Mech anime or ones that try to play with theology; but Escaflowne is one of the very few exceptions. That shit rocked my socks.
