I do believe that guy was a quantum irregularity that would occur during the Doctor's 13th and supposedly final regeneration. So yeah, that'll take a while to get to. Then again continuity always changes. Watch the first episode ever and you'll see some things that are downright non-canon nowadays.

Probably because in SJA The Doctor said he had about 400 regenerations left. Or 500, can't remember.

yeah pretty sure they've decided to forget about the 13 limit since they've reached 11 and likely will continue beyond that, though smith is set to be around for a few years as it currently is

The Hand of Fear to be repeated

The Radio Times have reported that The Hand of Fear is to be broadcast as a tribute to the late Elisabeth Sladen; the story was her last appearance as series regular Sarah Jane Smith alongside Tom Baker's portrayal as The Doctor.

The four episode story will be broadcast in two parts across Monday 9th and Tuesday 10th May on BBC4.

http://www.doctorwhonews.net/2011/04/dw ... to-be.html

Rest in Peace Elisabeth Sladen :-(

Season 6, Episode 2

Spoiler
First off, the whole hundreds of regenerations thing is such a footnote and general passing comment in SJA that I don't hold it as truth. I see it more as the Doctor just being like "Yeah, whatever kids." and throwing a random number out there since he didn't have time to sit down and explain it.

As for the Death thing... I'm more impressed that, unless they change the future, that Matt Smith will be The Doctor for 200 years, which implies a number of things, that Matt Smith is intended to be the very last Doctor before they end the series, that there will be a huge jump in time between the seasons at some point since we're obviously not going to see 200 years of Matt Smith before he retires from his role, or that the Doctor's "death" will be something that is prevented in this Season, or that isn't actually the Doctor who died, or whatever.

As for the pregnancy thing... I found it so weird how Amy was like "OMFG I GOTTA TELL YOU THIS RIGHT NOW!" didn't make any sense, made me keep wondering if the Doctor and Amy had sex at one point, which I recall they DIDN'T and I doubt they'd add that bit of stupid drama to the show (the Rory doubting her stuff is equally annoying.) Here's my theory... that somehow Amy's child is not Rory's but actually the TARDIS'. Not sure how exactly, but that's my theory. Sort of like when Rose was all uber in the end of Season 1, that's what the kid reminds me of. I mean, they already stated she was powerful to get out of the space suit. I'm guessing that she's a living TARDIS somehow, because I would imagine she travels through time with her own body since there aren't two blue police boxes floating around.

Back to the Doctor's death. Everything implies that Dr. Song is responsible for the Doctor's death. In Season 5 they imply she is in prison for killing the most important man in the universe, which is obviously the Doctor. The fact he dies to someone in a space suit reminds me very much that her first/final appearance ever was in an episode full of people in space suits, including herself. I'm half expecting it to NOT be her and have some other excuse, if only because all signs seem to point to the fact that they're married and that she's the killer. It can't be that obvious though because it's NEVER that obvious. It'll be interesting to see how that all plays out.

Day of the Moon thoughts.

Spoiler
Happy with resolving of certain plot points and how others are going to be addressed over the series story arc, know that we haven't seen the end of the Silence, and was an interesting way the Doctor "defeated" them, at least for now. And the opening was badass, loving the hobo beard, hope we see more, but hated River's "rescue", that shot looked horrible compared to regular Doctor Who standards (but that's a niggle)

Amy's pregnancy has to be connected to the little girl, most evidence in the episode clearly points to it, wonder what the Silence were doing with her and the "super suit" keeping her immortal essentially, that's going to bother me all season now, but something else will also be keeping me interested. SHE REGENERATED. WHAT IS THIS SHIT MOFFAT. WHAT ARE YOU UP TOO?

and I really want to see how "the room" that's from last season and in this two-parter factors into the story arc, surely it's something to do with the silence

And next week... Pirates!

I have this weird feeling that the Good man that River kills isn't the Doctor and that she's not in the space suit like some are saying. If she were in the space suit, she's essentially watching herself kill the Doctor, and then it wouldn't make sense for her to shoot at herself afterward.

If that's indeed where the doctor dies, I don't think River kills him.

I think the writers are making the audience THINK she kills the Doctor. A little bit of mis-direction. Same reason I think the little girl from ep 1 and 2 of this season is not Amy's kid at all.

The Doctor's wife thoughts

Spoiler
This really makes the doctor's persona even more tragic. Not to mention that of Sexy Thing. I mean, having spent an eternity with a TARDIS, only to talk to it for the first time and then hearing to never speak to it again. And to be a TARDIS to be able to speak to the man you chose to be your partner only to be able to speak to him once. I gotta say, I cried.
Moving on. The only water in the forest is the river, huh? Sounds like ... euh ... I have no idea. Though I think it's River and not river.
And poor Doctor, again. For a short while he believed that there were still others out there.
This was a damn good episode, if I do say so myself.

This is by far the best Matt Smith episode we've seen as of yet.

Well the way I see it, like most probably would, is that in many ways, the TARDIS is essentially the Doctor's wife, and the way there relationship was developed. (yes most would think of River Song somehow, read a theory believing that Idris was her mother... christ...) but the whole concept of the TARDIS being personified in a human, I thought, was brilliant, the writing of the episode was extremely sharp and Matt and Suranne were fantastic together, I really wished we could've see more of them together, but what we did see, I thought was great.

As for next week... very "meh" right now, I'll read the non-spoiler reviews that pop up closer to the episode to see if it's worth it, though "that" lady who popped up in Day of the Moon and Black Spot was in it, so we'll see how it goes.

And "The only water in the forest is the river..." interesting.

The Rebel Flesh thoughts:

Spoiler
Even though I think it's rather weird that their first thought is to kill every fucking one, I still think that this is a very interesting villain to be sure. Definitely brings about a new kind of discussion on whether or not they are real people.
And then there's the fact that there's a new Doctor in the house. Or ... same old, new doctor but with ... Euh ...
That last sentence was brilliant though. "Thrust me, I'm the Doctor"

EDIT:

Also

Spoiler
Looks like we finally have a possible explanation for the dead doctor bit

I'll have to catch up, I left off at the beginning of season 2.

But looks like they're launching full into this thing.. Bill effing Pullman!

I do wonder since it's moved production to the US and it's going to be on Starz if they'll tone down it's "adult themes." Looks kick ass though.

The Almost People thoughts

Spoiler
The most part of the story was quite expected, truth be told. Until that epic finale. Not only did the Ganger doctor meet his end, but now Amy has been a ganger all along, trapped on another world? That just totally blows every theory I've had, straight out of the water. I mean, my god, people!

The Almost People thoughts. (Or more so the ending...)

Spoiler
Finding out Amy has been a ganger for "quite some time" just makes me want to know when this "switch" was actually made, was it when The Silence kidnapped her? And the eye patch lady since then has been a connection between the real Amy and the ganger? I really want that answered, its bothering me more than it should I guess, and soon we'll learn who River really is, but supposedly its in the last few seconds of the episode and won't be addressed until the second half (but based on most of the rumors and set footage I've seen, I can take a pretty strong guess now, but obviously won't spoil it, I could still be way wrong) But one cool little thought I've had on my mind after reading some theories, could these "almost people" be a genesis of the "new" cyberman that are returning, it'd be interesting if thats the case

But by god, 7 days will never feel any longer, at least, until that mid-season break...

How long is that break exactly? Couple months? Not entirely sure.
