oh yeah. I think the director of MvC3 basically admitted MvC2 was very rushed, with no plans other then to make some fast cash (I think to help fuel some other projects?). They just built the engine and then threw in any sprite they could find, which is why there's so many tiers. It was basically MUGEN before there was MUGEN, though it obviously is much better then what most people put out there, or else it wouldn't have lasted so long.

Isn't pretty much any Capcom title rushed with no plans other than to make fast cash?

Which is hilarious to me, because one of their most rushed and lazy fighting games is one of their most praised games and my favorite fighter. The only thing that I really missed were the character themes and themed stages, which made a return in 3.

Overall, I think Capcom really payed attention to the characters and fighting system to make a really great game that is both polished and a ton of fun to play.

Well I finally got the game. I must say...not bad.

This is my first non-SSB fighter, so it's taking some time to get used to it. Like "I jump by moving the joystick up? WHAT IS THIS SORCERY?!"

You know you can do that in Smash also, right?

Did I also mention that I'm getting used to the PS3 controller? And that I usually press the button in Smash for jumping?

It's weird that all the characters that I didn't care about prior to playing the game are my favorites so far. Right now, X-23 is my favorite character, with Deadpool coming at second. Does anyone use Joe? He's one of the characters that I randomly tried out and I ended up loving him for his air combos. The only thing I can't work with is his cannon, which I'm terrible at the aiming with it in air combos.

Although I really haven't played with too many characters (less than ten in about 2 hours since I got it), I'm having a blast with the game. I'm still trying to get used to the game, but it's still a ton of fun.

Also, Iron Man's level 3 is the coolest move in the game. Hands down.

I've played prolly every character multiple times so far because each one is just so fun and different, but yeah joe is great with those air combos, if a little unsafe at times. my only problem is his reach. while I can get to people just fine with normal combos, I often find myself just short enough to hit anybody with his launcher attack.

by the way the new patch lowered sentinel's health and removed some bugs/infinites in case anyone was curious.

I agree with you there. Though I've played with a handful so far, they were all a blast to try out. The only one I have trouble with is Chris, because he really doesn't use too many melee attacks.

My main problem right now is trying to set up people for launchers and keeping them in the air. I kind of have to work on my timing, because I accidentally jump a bit to far and completely miss the person or just lose my reach in the middle of a combo. I'm also learning how to link my hypers at the right time, because some people like Wesker have good hypers in midair if they're doing the combo, but don't exactly work as the people transitioning to the fighter coming in, because you usually end up completely missing the person and wasting a bar. Or like Deadpool, who's midair hyper doesn't keep the person still. But some people like Taskmaster and Phoenix work really well and are great combo finishers.

Right now, the two people I can start up my combos with are X-23 and Deadpool. With X-23, I do her back flip and try to dash and start my launcher. With Deadpool I do his sword slash that hits people against the wall (with him screaming chimichanga), and try to catch them with a shoryuken to start my air combo.

I'm having a ton of fun matching up different characters to their strengths. Though it's a pretty tame fighter in difficulty compared to something like Street Fighter, there's a lot of options and depth in making your teams and combos.

Also, as much as I despise fighting Sentinel, his health depletion really is weird. I mean he's a giant robot used to kill mutants, yet he can get beat up so easily. But since I really don't use him, no loss for me.

have you guys played any of the events? they're kind of interesting, although very basic. would have loved if you could have used some of them at least in versus mode, though.

Yeah, I tried a few events. They're pretty neat ones, with some original and challenging ideas, like not using a hyper in arcade mode. Since Spring Break ended 2 weeks ago, I barely had time to play it, but I am getting a hang of doing steady air combos. It's still a ton of fun to play, so I'm enjoying it quite a bit.

@Dylan Dude, if I can easily brush aside one of my favorite videogame characters getting completely ruined in the game, I'm sure you can push aside waiting for an inevitable DLC character. =P

Speaking of DLC, Shuma is extremely awesome and Jill is an absolute mess. If the DLC has a discount, Shuma is a really fun character and totally worth downloading.

I played it most of the weekend when I was at my friends house bbqing. I'm deadly with Arthur/Deadpool/Taskmaster, though I was stuck using just normal combos with Tasky, I couldn't get the hang of the counter moves.

Wow. The endings are terrible and just flat out ridiculous.

I looked them up on Youtube, full agreement.

I would like them to put effort into that next time, maybe work in some sort of story. At least MK VS DC tried that, even if shaky.

You should go to Capcom Unity and suggest/vote for Gene. Seriously.

Mega Man X? Doesn't Zero already fill in the role for Mega Man X, and better? I honestly think that's a waste of a slot, and would much rather have people like Gene, Frank, or Phoenix in it.

There was such a whine fest about the DLC that I imagine they scrapped the two character at a time deal and are just going to release an updated game in 6 months - 1 year with all the DLC that was in the works all at once
