Despair about what? Just because /co/ likes something doesn't make it any worse. I mean, look at Homestuck.

I mean the amount of threads and the bickering it starts.

To be fair, I haven't seen this so no real opinion.

I have to say that The Hub in general has been a rather good surprise to me.

It was marketed as some Hasbro marketing thing (which it is) but the shows they got on there are really cool mainly G.I.Joe Renegades and Transformers Prime. Also kinda brings me back to WB Kids days with Batman Beyond and MIB:The Animated Series.

As for MLP:FiM, I watch it from time to time and it's really not that bad. By no means am I a fan of it but it's AMAZINGLY better than most crap on other channels that are "popular".

it looks cute, although I've never bothered to watch it. I hear it's plenty funny, but with so much stuff I still have to watch (Foster's looks more appealing then this, and I hear it's created by the same person?) it'll be awhile before I even check it out.

Yeah, Lauren Faust was part of the team that did Foster's as well. She also worked on the Powerpuff Girls.

I've yet to see Foster's myself. Up until MLP, I had not watched a children's cartoon since before college. I didn't even watch Avatar when all of my friends were telling me how great it was. I think the thing that impresses me is that Lauren Faust loves the fan community. She is well aware of /co/, the MLP exclusive image board whose name I don't recall, the community on DA, etc., and she is very open about responding to fan questions. I mean, you all know Derpy Hooves, right? The fan community fell in love with this pony in the first episode, and now whenever that pony appears on screen, she is given "derpy" eyes at least once per episode she appears in as a nod to the fans. Heck, the pony's name is probably actually Ditzy Doo, but Lauren has decided not to ever call her that in order to not step on the love of Derpy fans.
