I know what you mean, Link, and some form of tutorials would be nice.

To be honest, that is how I learned how to play MvC 2 and the Street Fighter games (to be fair, once you learn one Street Fighter, the others aren't too hard to learn). I just chose my team and played for fun. Eventually I learned most of the things (like supers, linking them, and combos) accidentally and eventually learned how to play it. Just have fun, and you'll figure it out.

Oh I'm not arguing that. These are a pain in the ass.

But why should I beat them? What do I get for it?

Not Taskmaster. Already got him. Apparently the last unlockable character. =P

Two titles per character for completing all of one characters missions. Maybe another one for completing all of them.

having to play through the game to unlock characters is really dumb to me and I'm glad they didn't do it in here or SSFIV. I don't mind a few secret characters (like the four you unlock) or redundant characters but that's about it.

link, just keep in mind that special moves are really simple in this game. most require a simple joystick motion plus the attack button (often with the move changing direction/type depending on which attack button). there's only about five joystick motions in the game, with them being:

quarter circle forward (down, down forward, forward)

quarter circle backward

zigzag (forward, down, down forward (it's a lot easier to pull off then it looks))

backwards zigzag

half circle (backward, down backward, down, down forward, forward)

the last two motions are less used then the first three, really, or that's what I've found so far.

pretty much. also, Im not sure if any other character has this, but Chung-Lee's spinning bird kick is a down-up charge move.

Yeah, I noticed move inputs were dumbed down. I need to practice my Dragon Punch because I'm pretty fucking terrible with the Z motions, or at least I remember myself being.

It's funny how I can only do the dragon punch from the right side instead of the left.

I have the same issue with doing stuff to the left. If I'm on the right side on the screen I usually suck ass.

For the longest time, I thought it was only me. I can play on the right side in MvC 2, but games like SSF IV, I couldn't do an Ultra from the right without breaking my thumb. Most of the matches are me trying to get to the left if I started at the right.

it's all part of muscle memory, which is why the games get easier to play the longer you play them

Just got it, (FINALLY) fucking European Military shipping delay. First off, holy shit Sentinel does not fuck around with X-factor. The guy can already wipe the floor with any character, and giving him a "Initiate All-Rape" button is absolutely ridiculous.

You can easily activate X within the first few seconds of the game and just go to town, and anybody using a low stamina character, is in for a world of hurt with him.

I've always liked Morrigan in each of the games she's been in, and this one is no exception. Fast, easy to combo with and can dish out a good amount of damage. Not to mention, her Astral Super, is really handy and most opponents never see it coming.

I almost forget that Morgan has that special especially at times when it's crucial to use.

After playing a little bit, I have to say that Phoenix is definitely my main that will be replacing my MvC 2 one.

So far, my favorite teams are:

Dante, Phoenix, Spider-Man

Wesker, Phoenix, Iron Man.

I kind of want to give Joe a chance too, considering how much fun he looks.

One last thing I have to say is that Galactus is ridiculously cheap. I don't know how to block his attack where he charges up his hands and hits the ground, knocking out your fighter. I was so close to beating him until he did that. :meh:

Can't wait until June, when I finally get the game.

He's not too cheap. When He does that move, you can knock him out of it.

I really didn't have any troubles with the clone part. I just used used Wesker and his teleporting. Then when the second form came, I used Phoenix's super and Iron Man. My only problem is that I was completely clueless on how to avoid his laser and when the hits the ground and causes the screen to go white. I'm sure I'll be able to beat him when I actually have the game and know what I'm doing.

Ehsan, just be careful of people who know how to use Snap Backs effectively

I use Phoenix in my back row, and I got Snapped into Phoenix twice by the same person. Not fun if you are dependent on her

is it just me, or do a lot of the characters come down to just spamming? It seems that a good majority of the spamming characters in MvC2 have gotten a super nerf, only to be replaced with the new characters who have taken their place.

Also, I seriously think Wesker is OP'd as hell. His damage output exceeds Akuma, his supers have a very large hit radius and almost never miss. He has power and speed just all rolled up in one, with no threshold to keep him back.

Akuma has his weak stamina, but honestly it's been buffed since the old days, and know he has a very fast recovery rate to go with his hurricane kick. But as I was saying, there is practically no drawbacks to using him, and if all else fails, spam the pistol. He can take it out so fast that you barely have the time to react to it.

Yeah I agree some characters you can straight win with button mashing. Dante is a good example of one.
