I am really looking forward to The Writer when it comes out. I can't believe Handsome Tom down talked it on The Prototype! This game was amazing and I can't get enough. I'd buy all the DLC if they released more. I wish they would make a second one.

It was the one before the last one where him and Jason were alone cuz Mike was doing something or other. They were talking about Gaming Season and listing all the DLC and games coming out and what they were gonna buy. When Jason mentioned Alan Wake's The Writer, Tom was like "meh don't care" and they immediately moved on :(

Ah, did he actually ever play it or is he just like "Whatevs." Because, from a story perspective, the DLC's are essential. If you didn't care about the story, then yeah, they're pointless.

Aghhhhh! The Writer ends on a pseudo cliffhanger! Need a sequel, ASAP.

Side-Note: I was impressed that I pulled off one of the final boss and barely had a scratch on me. Excessive amount of Flares FTW!

FUCK

I forgot about The Writer DLC and points! GAH!

But, those points were used for the good. I used them for the Undead Nightmare DLC for Red Dead and Super Meat Boy. Next time, I'm getting this DLC.

I do remember him saying he played it, but he didn't like the character movements or something like that.

Anyway, I really hope the game gets a sequel, I really enjoyed going through it.

I finally got around to beating the Writer DLC. All I'm going to say it, I demand another Alan Wake.

I know I'm terribly late, but I picked this game up today and I have to say it is just fantastic. Not only is the atmosphere spooky as hell, but the humour is just amazing. The FBI agent calling Alan different writers names makes me giggle every time, and Barry, hands down best supporting character in a game.

Very late to the party, but you just got a 360 recently so I can let it slide.

I still have yet to pick this up as well, but I just would like to know if the story is any good, particularly for aspiring authors?

Funnily enough I was gonna pick this up today as well. Found a few used copies for £10 so I may grab one while I can.

Just finished it now and my mind is blown at the ending, and now I'm seriously considering spending 1120 Microsoft points on DLC.

You can get new 1200 point cards, so now's a perfect opportunity.

DO IT NOW!!! :serious:

I picked this game up a couple weeks ago and just got the DLC. The whole game is fantastic. All the little easter eggs and references were awesome. definetely thinking of buying that collectors edition I saw in stores. I didn't find it too creepy though, but it always kept me interested.

I'd say the collectors edition is worth it just for the soundtrack alone :yo:

I played a rented copy up until the third chapter and the damn thing kept freezing at the last cutscene. Definitely will pick it up used next time I see it.

Grabbed a copy while I could. Even though it was preowned it still had the free content card in it unscratched, woo!
