Seeing as how the launch date comes closer and closer this month. Who else is as excited for this game as I am. It might be another one of those few but really good Wii titles. I pre-ordered the special edition seems totally worth it for this game. Hopefully I'm not hyping myself up too much and the game lets me down. Don't think so with the amount of effort they are putting into it.

I thought this game was about 8-Bit Mickey, but I was surely mislead. Damn it.

Anyway, I'm very curious about this game. I have a slight interest in the Kingdom Hearts series and Mickey is obviously in those games, but what about this one? I see Epic Mickey on Amazon.ca a lot and it makes me wonder if it is really worth it to buy. I haven't noticed a lot of people talk about this game and I honestly hope it does good on the Wii. I'll have to see what people's overall impressions are about it.

I knew about it and the basic gameplay elements from E3 but I not too long ago read what the game itself was about and...holy shit I'm into it.

Day one purchase for sure.

I have no idea what this game is about but I love the box art which is almost enough to sell me on it by itself...

Image

Jesus that gives me some box art boner.

Throw in a pretty sweet CE for $70 and I'm about 99% sold. All this is without having read anything, ANYTHING on it.

Have to admit, I'm loving me some Wii right now. Epic Mickey, Mario All Stars SE (yeah, I know, expensive collection of what I already have, but also has a sweet box), DKC Returns, Skyward Sword, Sonic Colors, Kirby, Goldeneye, mmmm mmmmm, Nintendo goodness. I'm also thinking about picking up a DS because there are some really good deals out right now. Man, Nintendo is rocking it right now for me.

The fact that you'll see some familiar places from Disney Land in the game. Just has me drooling it's my childhood wrapped up in a game. Having lived in a California for a few years as a kid I've been to Disneyland a good amount of times. So I must once again say I'm throughly looking forward to this game.

Biggest disappointment ever, really. I would have loved to see a game as seen in just the early concept art.

You mean like the robot Goofy and the whacked out looking locations that are IN THE GAME?

It's not even out yet and you label it a big disspointment? What kind of logic is this? :-?

Makes almost as much sense as someone just asuming it's going to be childish and lame because it's got Mickey Mouse...

Remember that future zelda trailer thingy? What if that actually was a game? Everyone got so exited and found it cool. Turns out that it's just a dream that Link has before he wakes up and starts his new adventure in regular ol' hyrule.

Yeah, it's in the game, but not anything like advertised.

That argument doesn't make any sense because in this game you will be playing in those weird locations. And robot Goofy (as well as robot Donald) are characters in the game.

They arent just part of a dream that you wake up from and start running around in regular old Disney Land.

Fine, a dream sequence where you can control Link. Better?

...Not entirely. Because it's not just a small portion of the game.
Is the entire game like that? No, because there's tons of self reference in the form of platform levels based on classic toons that act as bridges between locations (Steam Boat Willie for example).
But the majority of the game takes place in a twisted land.

This game's always kinda interested me. Whoever says the game will suck becasue it's Mickey and Mickey Mouse is childish really needs to rethink things as a gamer. Not trying a game because you think it's "childish" is really a sad excuse and you could be missing out on something great.

Anyways it looks like my girlfriend and I might actually break down and buy one of those red Wiis during Canada's Boxing Day sales so I may have to Rent Epic Mickey to see what I think about it.

Hey everyone! I'm working with Disney Interactive Studios on Disney Epic Mickey, and I wanted to tell you more about the game and share some videos & images with you all.
The game is going to be released very soon (November 26th in the United Kingdom and November 30th in North America), so if you have any questions, please let me know and hopefully I’ll be able to answer them. :-)

Image

There seems to be a lot of questions about the game in general.
So for those who didn’t know, Disney Epic Mickey is an action-adventure RPG exclusively for the Wii console that sends Mickey Mouse on an epic journey into Wasteland, an alternate world made up of Disney’s long forgotten characters and attractions. The iconic mouse is given the power to wield paint and paint thinner to dynamically change the world while determining Mickey’s path to becoming an epic hero. Players will have the ability to shape how the story unfolds depending on the actions they chose.

Here is the newest behind the scenes video about the theme park inspiration in the game:

For more videos, please check out the official Disney Epic Mickey YouTube page
http://www.youtube.com/disneyepicmickey
For more information and updates, you can also check out the Disney Epic Mickey Facebook Page
http://www.facebook.com/DisneyEpicMickey
If you would like to pre-order the game, you can go here:

Great job on the game it's looking great can't wait to play it. So my question is what sort of unlockable goodies could we look forward too if there are any? Like maybe some old Mickey Mouse or Oswald cartoons something like that.
