jesus I hate the internet sometimes.

doesnt anyone get excited anymore for movies? have we become soo jaded that a new entry into a franchise you enjoy that it is immediately picked apart, dissected, and dismissed? what ever happened to "friday the 13th part 87 : jason vs the swamp monster, holy shit that sounds like fun!!"

scream 4? meh, it will not be an epic, perfectly shot, flawlessly executed, masterfully written, impeccably acted masterpiece, its gonna suck!

I loved scream, I loved scream 2, I really enjoyed scream 3 - not as much as 1 and 2 but it was still a damn fun watch, and you know what? I am willing to bet scream 4 will be fun, and thats all I want out of it, some fun, I dont expect deep characters or a griping engaging plot , I want to go to the movie for an hour and a half, turn off my brain and watch a sequel to a franchise I love, eat some popcorn, have some FUN and enjoy my self.

I think this movie will end up being good, and can not wait for it!

Scream was never good. Even in it's 'har har ironic' style

But hey, thats just like My opinion man.

The trailer is here... aaand it's okay. Nothing spectacular. I'll wait for the film to come out to judge, as per usual.

....ehh.

Looks pretty stupid. Pointing out cliches doesn't really work when the cliches don't mesh well with the film itself, like that camera bit.

Pass.

The trailer just served as a reminder as to why we don't need another Scream and that Wes Craven just doesn't have it any more (My Soul to Take serves as further proof).

well I for one am still very excited, and think the trailer looked fun...

of course I am not as overly jaded as 98% of people today who pick everything apart and cant enjoy anything unless they are tearing it down and nit picking it to ridiculous levels .

people really need to remember what mindless fun is, if you want enlightenment go see the Dalai Lama, if you want to learn something or provoke deep thought go hear a professor give a lecture, and if you wana turn off your brain and have fun for 90 minutes go see a slasher flick.

I think you mean action flick. Slasher flicks went out of style because they became PG-13 and lost the only edge they had. Scream put some life back into things by making the slasher rules part of the plot, but it doesn't really need so many versions because it's become a cliche itself. There are better horror movies out there, no need to settle for the crap.

A genre will never grow if you keep excepting what you have as great, you have to challenge it. Action and blockbuster films usually get a pass since they're supposed to be mindless fun, slashers became that when they were originally brutal and dark, only to be over manufactured by the person who made them.

You know, Wes Craven.

Reviews are pretty mixed so far, but audience response is solid.

Might be worth a look after all.

Probably see it on cheap Tuesdays (movies are $5 at the local theater). While I enjoyed the first Scream I thought the other two were meh, but my girlfriend loves the series so she'll make me go with her. Could be good.

Fiancee is excited. I am not. I didn't really like the original Scream series that much, despite having seen all 3 (I think.) I need me some Nightmare on Elm St. Wes Craven, not Tongue in Cheek Wes Craven.

Why did I pay money to see this piece of shit? Best part of the movie was watching a clip of Shaun of the Dead. Wish I'd just watched it again instead.
