PLAY THIS GAME.
Your life depends on it.

Oh yeah, you'll need Gens with Sega CD BIOS or something. Totally worth it though.

I've played a LOT of Sonic mods (literally dozens) and megamix is by far one of the best there is.

I'm pretty sure it's actually $15 on the PSN as well, not $10.

Just played the Demo.

I am...
I think, because I'm a Sega fanboy, I feel confused in a way that is not sexual but just as inherent and oddly different.
I don't know. I'm uncomfortably confused by this, I guess?

Basically, the Sonic 4 Demo will make you question your Segality.

..not sure if I'm going to get it now.

I fuckin love Sonic 4, it is the best game ever PERIOD!!!! Okay, it isn't the best game ever, but a great example of how an Xbox Live Arcade game should be made. Even though some levels are ridiculously easy and it is a bit overpriced (1200? Really? This is 800 points material). But it is a perfect mix of new and old Sonic in my opinion.

Spoiler
The final boss is my worst nightmare, it's freakin impossible!!!! Though it is a worthy challenge, don't get that alot nowadays.

After playing the demo I kind of changed my mind on this one. I'm just not liking it. There were too many times where he would get snagged on an incline and just stop; getting launched in the air is pretty much asking to lose all of your rings because he comes out of his ball form and the homing attack/air dash doesn't always work the way you want it to.

I'm not saying the game is bad, but between its price and my own problems with it I'm just going to pass.

It would be half decent if it wasn't for the extremely poor physics. When I realised he dropped straight down after a jump instead of down and forward I knew... "Oh... fuck."

I decided to pass when I found out the price for something I would never physically own.

You didn't have to do that in the old games. If you were running and then jumped you would land ahead of where you were. It's called momentum... :disappointed:

Not to mention perhaps every platform game I've ever played uses momentum at least somewhat. Sonic has absolutely zero momentum in this. It actually makes the platforming harder because you naturally ease up on the moving forward to get Sonic to land safely on a platform and instead he stops dead in mid-air and plummets to the ground like a rock (falling short of the platform that his forward momentum should have carried him to).

I rebought Sonic Adventure on the PSN, why did I do that? All my fond memories of the game are destroyed now playing and seeing how terrible it was.

if it's any consolation I hear it's a bad port due to having even more camera problems then the original.

On Xbox Marketplace this week for Gold Members at a reduced cost of 800 Microsoft Points ($10) is Sonic 4, Episode 1.

This is a week I've been waiting for since it came out months ago. Nontraditional approach to level selection seems to be the biggest change so far. Retro bonus stages have been refitted and reworked to be less frantic but ultimately more engaging.

I've found that the biggest flaw is the challenge. The game is WAY too easy. Practically impossible to get a game over
