I'm putting a halt on ALL name changes starting September 10th. I've been receiving a lot of PMs for people changing their names, etc. Which is all well and good, but it's reaching the point where almost everyone has changed their username.

Unless there is an ultra legit reason to have your name changed, I won't be doing it anymore. So, if you really need to change your name just for the sake of doing it, you have until the 10th and then it's set in stone. Once you've changed your name between now and the 10th it's also set in stone, no changing your name every other day. :-/

Also, as a word of personal advice, DON'T use your real name as your username unless it's what everyone knows you by. There are going to be a lot of Johns and Janes out there and your name isn't "unique" to you. It's much better to use a handle as opposed to your real identity. At least on the Internet.

Note: You weren't the only one who requested a change to their real name. I just don't want everyone swapping their usernames to their real names all of a sudden, especially if there are multiple people with the same real name, it could get confusing.

I dunno what it is, maybe its just the indecisiveness of this generation or what, but I can honestly say I have never had the urge to change my user name on this, or any other forums, hell ive been using the same name on AOL / AIM since 95 or 96.

Legit reasons for changing your name are:

- You have a name that implies a gender and people keep mistaking you for the opposite sex.

- You have a dumb name like... "Xcooldude5569X" and want something a little less... AOL Screen Name.

- There is a stigma attached to your name that you'd wish to leave behind, perhaps you were a jackass in a past life on another forum and want a fresh start by disassociating yourself with that.

meh I kind of figured people could safely assume that this was my real name anyways so I figured why the hell not. at least it's an uncommon name.

I'm the other Texas Ranger (who's not from Texas), why would I ever change my name?

Quick off-topic question: Does my avatar show up on your computer?

Can I have the Optimus removed from my name? It was a cool thing for a bit but I'd like to streamline it to just "Lucrious" a nickname I commonly go by already, I won't want to change it after that and everyone will still know its me anyway

Asking now obviously before Sept 10

thanks Link,

Damn, what am I doing wrong? I feel as though no matter how many times I attempt to upload an avatar, it simply refuses to appear. :-?
