Well, I was going to wait on this game due to the fact I have too many other games to play and am broke, but my buddy who works at a game store's selling it to me for $40 so I can't say no to that! Just wondering from those who are playing it now what they think of it? My buddy who I'm buying it from said the atmosphere's a lot like the early Silent Hill games.

I absolutely adore it so far and in no way regret getting it over Red Dead Redemption. 5 years of love put into this baby, and it shows every step of the way.

Alan Wake does look good, might be something I'll pick up next pay day. Perhaps after Grand Theft Horse(Red Dead Redemption), though.

Beat the game last Friday. It was really good, but it felt kinda... incomplete. The best way I can describe it is that you paid $60 or $70 for 75% of a game and they're reserving the final 25% for DLC so they can cash in more... and the sad thing is I'm going to drop the money for the final 25% because I really enjoyed the story.

Don't forget that at the very least, the first bit of DLC is free, which is a fantastic move on their part if you ask me. At least it gives you a little incentive.

Not free for me. My buddy's a game store manager and gave me a staff discount so instead of paying $70+ for it I only paid for $40 for a used copy. Still ends up being cheaper than paying for it new. I'll gladly pay for it to support the studio so it can make more great games like this one.

That's not bad at all. I work at a Gamestop, so you could always have him do what I do: Scour the used copies for leftover codes. That pays off more often than you'd think.

That's actually an excellent idea! I'll message him and see if he can do that for me.

When I traded in my copy of Dragon Age, I removed the codes from the case and sold them on eBay for slightly under what you'd pay for them on X-Box Live.

Finished. I'm surprised that nobody is discussing this game. Looks like Rockstar's flavor of the year overshadowed it. :[

Just beat it the other night. I really liked it and it does have that early Silent Hill feel; plus I like how the story is really open to different interpretations. The one thing I did hate though was, like you said, the ending felt incomplete. And now we have to wait another month to wrap up that last loose end.

If we're lucky. I remember reading somewhere that Remedy said this won't expand upon Alan Wake's conclusion. We may even end up playing as different characters. IE. Nightingale.

FFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCKKKK!!!

Spoiler
I donno, the way they introduce "Scratch" made me think that there was one last thing Alan has to do before he can come back. While I would like to know what Nightingale's deal was or even know more about Tom the whole Scratch thing had me :-?

Incoming mind fuck for Sheep Cannon (MAJOR SPOILERS)

Spoiler
Mr. Scratch is who you're playing as throughout the game. The entire game the REAL Alan is trapped in the lake writing the manuscript with Mr. Scratch playing the role of Alan Wake. Mr. Scratch's story begins at the car crash with "Alan, wake up." the game ends with the lines "Alan, wake up."

Thomas Zane in a diving suit is actually a character created by Alan Wake based on the stories about the REAL Thomas Zane. He is used as a guide for Mr. Scratch in order to help get him to where he needs to go to save Alice.

So, uh, without spoiling it, what do you all mean when it feels incomplete? Does it set it up for a sequel or leave some things unexplain or not finish the storyline or etc?
