I will need to get this game. Perhaps as a birthday present as what else is there?

also, just a word of warning for Mr. Black, some of the role playing elements are pared down, building your character when you level up there are only like 5 or 6 base choices to put your points into, and there isnt nearly as much gear, in fact theres hardly any actual weapons or armor you will find at all, there is some, but most of your gear upgrading is done through finding schematics and upgrading existing weapons and gear, and changing your weapons / armor is all done on the normandy between levels , it was a bit surprising but after a few hours I think it works really well.

:zombie:

That doesn't bother me so much. Not the biggest RPG guy anyway so if they scaled down those elements then I'm ok with it. However, you still get to at least switch between assault rifle, sniper rifle, shotgun and pistol in combat like the first one or do you have to pick 1 or 2 before leaving for a mission?

yea you get all 5 weapon types available to you at all times, heavy pistol , shotgun, assault riffle ( or SMG ), snipper rifle, and heavy weapons and you switch between them just like the first game, just if you say get a new pistol and opt to equip it when you find it, you wont be able to switch back to your old pistol until your back on the normandy.

Ok, I can deal with that! Alright, mission for tonight: beat Darksiders, cry about how I'll never have those 15 hours of my life back again.

Tomorrow: Run to EB, trade Darksiders and something else and get Mass Effect 2 and play all day!

Sorry it took too long to get back. Mass Effect 2 stole my life for like the week, and I got bitched at by my girlfriend for it. I'm studying for my GED and that went out the window when ME2 arrived. 40 Hours on my saves ;D. Awesome game!

Also,

Soldier is the only class that can equip all weapons, except SMG. You took what weapons you can equip and go in, and half the time if you find a new weapon there is a weapon locker nearby to switch it out if you dont like it.

So what was everyones Class and Build. :D

Vanguard - Level 26 so Far

Max Heavy Charge
Max Pull Field
Max Heavy Slam
Max Champion (think this one, one that adds cooldown.)
Almost Max Shockwave.

Sadly. I will be removing charge from this guy. Charge = DEATH on the higher enemy swarms, and thats all you really get, and against mechs.

Spoiler
Party Members are:

Tali and Legion. Two evil orbs harressing enemies = WIN.

Got my no one left behind achievement on the first time.

Garrus is a Leader! Use him in both fireteams. Jack is the almighty shield lady. Tali is the awesome vent chick, and well Samara escorts them back. DONT FORGET TO GIVE MORDIN HIS TECH UPGRADE!

wow... I just beat ME2, the last hour or 2 was absolutely amazing, I actually found my self holding my breath waiting to see what was going to happen and how things were going to play out, I was going to say I have not cared for characters in a game I played this much in a long time, but to be honest the character development here was so good, this might be the most invested in characters from a game I have been yet.

as for my build, I went soldier , level 26

maxed inferno ammo
maxed concussive shot
maxed soldier ( shock trooper )
almost maxed disrupter ammo and adrenalin rush

and putting this in spoiler , if you haven't beat the game, don't read it.

Spoiler
the only person I lost was jacob, which out of all the characters was probably my least favorite as he was just a normal human, kind of like kaiden in the first game who was my least favorite, the only one I really didn't want to lose for sure was Miranda, but since I lost only jacob and pretty much everything turned out how I wanted I will probably use this for my ME3 transfer.

btw, did anyone else think "fuck me thats a terminator" when they saw the reaper (final boss)?

I am going to start playing through again right away using a different character load from ME1, maybe change the class to vanguard though.

Yes it was the terminator! I agree. But ya using soldier for insanity run is super easy. Mantis Sniper actually 1 shots almost all lower enemies with a headshot which is very easy to achieve with Adrenaline. :D

Also: Mordin was the most fleshed out character of them all. His fucking Sex Education talk and sex advice were the best things ever.

after giving it some more thought, I thought the story over all was great and intense, but one thing is lingering that I am left wondering about.

again, DO NOT read if you haven't beaten the game.

Spoiler
ok, so the collectors are kidnapping people, and we have to go stop them. that is pretty much all we know through out the whole game right up until the very end, where we find out that they are liquefying them and using them to build a new reaper.

but my problem is this.

all reapers they have ever shown look the same, like giant squid looking spaceships , why was the reaper in the collector base being made to look like a giant human with a giant skull and eyeballs and all that jazz? is there any specific reason they wouldn't just make it look like all the other reapers?

is this an experiment? trying to make something new and powerful, combining the DNA of humans with the technology of the reapers? but why make it look like the terminator?

I am gonna go back and dig through the codex and see if I can find out the reason, I am sure it was given at some point and I just missed it, but it really just seems like something they did to have an iconic end game boss ( giant robot ) to fight.

Spoiler
It seems that this is how the reapers reproduce. They take the strongest of all organic life every cycle and then us it to make a few new reapers to add to their ranks. A few reapers are slightly different then the ones shown if you look up at the ending where the reapers are gathering. Though sometimes they cannot use them for a reaper, which is what happened with the protheans and probably the keepers, so they warped them to serve their needs. Now how the reapers started is beyond me.

from the sounds of it they fixed / took out a lot of the stuff you didn't care for in the first game.

make sure and post weather you like it or not.

Dear god I hated both of them in the first game. I had to honestly sit back a moment and figure out which one I wanted to die more during my choice in the first game.

BTW, I've totally given up on Darksiders. Fucking done with that game, I don't care if I'm close to beating it anymore. The puzzles aren't hard, but sweet lord if you mess one up just a little it's SO fucking time consuming to go back and fix your mistake (especially if you're not being a bitch and using an online walkthrough). Also, how is it the hordes of enemies are WAY harder than any of the bosses and they're annoying as hell. I just want to finish a puzzle or make my way to the boss and wave after wave after wave of enemies show up. They're not hard but they're freaking annoying! Jesus, I just want to get to the boss or finish the puzzle! Sorry... that game just makes me so angry. DO NOT BUY IT!!

Didn't have time to pick up ME2 today, doing it Tuesday and kissing me free time goodbye. Kinda wish I had it tonight as I have nothing to do...

I live in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. On Saturdays everything closes at 6 so we can run to the nearest pub/spots bar to watch hockey night in Canada. Closest thing to a 24 hr store would be Walmart and according to the clock on my laptop I have 1 minute to get there and buy it... don't see that happening.

okay, fuck me, mass effect 2 is fantastic. skills are more manageable, the new characters feel more realistic in terms of characterization, the graphics are pretty as fuck (the opening, where the normandy has a "new window" as sollah put it, was pretty surreal for me though i was tired at the time), combat feels so much better and faster, allies seem to have an understanding of how to fire guns properly this time, and they even fixed autosave!

this game rules. color me impressed.

yea they really polished the hell out of this game.

for those of you who played it I got a question.

what heavy weapon did you end up using the most? I used / still use mostly the rocket launcher, I really want to like the mini nuke weapon, but it uses entirely too much ammunition.

Depends on the mission in question.

For my Vanguard, I tended to use the blackhole gun ALOT, however it sucked on anything bigger than a normal person. So now I tend to use the grenade launcher. The nuke however, 1 hit everything including the final boss on normal.

how much ammo do you need to be able to fire the nuke? I cant even get it to fire, do you need 100 ammo or is it less?

also, I started playing a vanguard, got about 4 hours into my second play through and wasnt really diggin it, the charge ability is awesome as hell, but very impractical, it seems like every time I use it I get shot down in a blaze of glory unless theres just 1 guy around, so now I made a sentinel and so far I am loving it, not as much as soldier, but still awesome.
