Is anyone playing Torchlight? The guys behind Diablo and Diablo 2 made it, and in allot of ways it really shows. I have been thinking about buying this game but the unfortunate lack of multiplayer is keeping me from making the purchase (downloading the demo right now though). Does anyone know if its any good?

I'm rezzing this Topic as this game has come out on XBLA recently. Be cool if it could be moved to Mult-Platform as well, but if not, lemme know and I'll start a new topic.

I loved Diablo 2, loved WOW, and Love random loot systems. I also love that it comes out on xbox, I get obsessed with it, and it's Sequel is coming for PC this year. Oh happy day!

Eh, I like the style of torchlight (dungeon crawler), but this one felt too repetitive and I really hate the type of graphics it uses. I was done with it after about 40 minutes of play, and I know for a fact that it doesn't have multiplayer for the 360, i forgot whether it had it or not for the PC (I don't think it did), so it'll be a solo game if you get it. Also, since it is in the style of diablo 1&2 you'll just be pointing and clicking, but the game doesn't have as many cool looking skills and powers to make it less boring like some of the other better point/click dungeon crawlers out there. So, if you don't mind silly over-sized, super bright and blocky style graphics (similar to warcraft 3) and you don't mind basically point and clicking for the entire time, you might like it.

PC didn't have Multiplayer either, but it's open sources, so it's open to the MOD community. So there are a lot of mods to be had. The XBLA version doesn't use Point and click, it's more on the vein of DeathSpank in that regard. Run around and bash stuff up. It's a great game if you're a fan of Diablo 1 and 2 imo..

The sequel coming out this year is going to have Muliplayer, and more customization, but the art style will be unchanged.

Pissed that the sequel is getting multiplayer when I remember reading that Torchlight was going to be patched for Multiplayer at a later date. :-/

hmmm been debating getting this on Steam for awhile. Ever since I beat Deathspank I've been yearning for another dungeon crawler. I'll probably wait for it to go on sale. I'm cheap, I know.

This game is really good I love it. It was a day one buy for me just reading the description they sold me when it said "from the makers of Diablo". I didn't even play the trail before buying it and I don't regret it. The only downside is the whole no multi player which would of been pretty cool to have. Haven't really scratched the surface of the game yet. Got it the 360 btw not PC glad they didn't make it PC exclusive.
