Sup guys, I'm back...but, not for long. (Like I said, I wouldn't be properly returning, shit is just too hectic right now) But, I had to come back just to tell you about this...

I think...I think I might be in love...

...with the greatest scary movie "in the last 30 years" (as everyone's been saying) and I don't blame them...



TRICK 'R TREAT
The film that has (literally) been dying to be released for 2 years now! And guess where it ends up? Not on your fabled theatre screens as one would suspect, but no. It is immediately stuck on the shelf as a *shudder* STRAIGHT-TO-VIDEO release (now that's the real horror), to make way for sequels and remakes that the movie industry is currently shitting out.

Note the fact I didn't call it a horror movie, but a Scary movie. Because, defining a film under horror would suggest there would be extreme scenes of gore or distressing images. Well, there isn't that much of that here, if that's your thing, to see blood gush on all four walls (don't get me wrong, I can't get enough. ie Jake's death in Evil Dead II), then this movie may not be for you. However, if the sheer thrill of perfect story telling and gripping suspense is what compels you, then look no further!

Trick 'R Treat is like Creepshow, Are You Afraid Of The Dark? and Tales From The Crypt tossed in a blender and set to 'Squishify', the result is a totally originally and surprisingly likeable pseudo-anthology movie, revolving around 4 tales set on Halloween, that in some way link to classic horror clichés with a twist (and when I say twist, you'll be scratching your head relentlessly throughout this movie). What links all 4 together is a creepy little child named 'Sam' (see poster for more creepiness) and the sacred rules of Halloween involving "Never blow out a Jack O Lantern" and "Kep your costume on". I'm serious, this shit will kill you if your not focused.

I don't want to spoil the movie, but it is just my perfect "that time of year" film for Halloween. It also has an amazing cast of people that don't get the recognition they usually deserve, like Brain Cox (one of my favourite actors), Anna Paquin (Rogue from the X-Men films) and who could forget the amazing Dylan Baker!? Just do yourself an extreme favour, the Halloween season may be over soon enough, but that doesn't mean you can't get an amazing experience with this film!

I waited two damn years for this movie, and it was worth the wait. I keep hearing on how all the in store copies are all sold out across the country.

It's my favorite scary movie that I've seen this year thus far. A lot of fun and it brings back the fond memories of Halloween back when it meant something.

Oh, I freakin love Creepshow. I am running out today to track down a copy of this.

I had never heard of this movie until recently when my girlfriend got it from Netflix and told me I had to watch it. Anticipating it to be bad I was delightfully surprised to see a straight to video movie actually be pretty fuckin' good. As "best horror movie within the last 30 years" I would disagree but it was really good that I'd definitely recommend any fan of horror to watch it.
