Honorary Hero & Villain of the Year Contest (2009 Edition)

RULES/DESCRIPTION

Okay guys, here's how this is going to play out. Hopefully no drama involved, just like last year. Last years winners were Furia & JB Artisan.

We will have TWO awards this year, one for a Sidekick and another for a Henchmen (and please, no side switching guys unless it's a permanent switch, we're going off an honor system here.) However, we'll be deciding who is on the ballot in TWO separate ways!

We will have the top TWO nominations from the mods and the top TWO nominations from the sidekicks & henchmen added to the ballot (Top nominations are determined by the amount of times they were nominated.) However, there's a complicated (and fun) twist!

Only Sidekicks/Heroes can nominate Sidekicks and only Henchmen/Villains can nominate Henchmen! You are more or less nominating a representative from your own group as the numero uno of your group. You can't nominate yourself, and you must give a half decent validation for your nomination.

We will then hold a vote amongst all FOUR (not TWO) people who made the cut. We will do this for Sidekicks and for Henchmen so we'll have TWO polls going at once. Sidekicks and Henchmen are ALLOWED to vote for the opposing faction if they want to, but they're NOT allowed to nominate for them as previously stated.

Upon victory the winning Sidekick and winning Henchman will EACH receive a special reward, and they will commence in a FINAL showdown between good and evil to see who is superior, which will ultimately just be for shits and giggles and be recorded in the Golden Age forum (at a later date whenever we fully enable the Trophy mod I may award them a Trophy for winning), along with the rest of the contest.

Nominations should be based off whom has done the most for The Game Heroes, whether it be for the community, online game hosting, IRC chat running, submissions for the site, questions for the podcasts, just being a all around helpful forum member, etc. Don't nominate people JUST because they're "cool" or "funny". If you do the nominations WON'T be counted.

Other Information

Staff, Mods, & Admins are exempt from this contest and can't be nominated.

You don't have to have a "colored" name to participate this year.

Although he's sure to bring in the lulz to these parts,
he's still a pretty active G.E.A.R.S member and still makes sigs when his brain isn't all maxed out, plus he offered some freelance modding in one thread.

Well this is annoying, I would have voted for Crono, but I can't and I would like to vote for Danimal, but iunno, I just think that he hasn't been here as long as other henchmen who deserve the vote, but defo next year for Danimal. CHANGE '10! I'll even make a Danimal Roll to help him win that election.

Anyway, I'll go for nosebleed, obvious reasons, plus that which are already stated.

Mr Black would have been a close second.

Hmm, tough choice this year.
I like to put a lot of thought into this and nominate those who have really done something special (like my nominating JB Artisan last year). I'd intended on nominating Mongo for his part in YIBR, but since that resulted in him being considered Staff and therefore a Hero, I've got to rethink this...

Not to "sway the votes" but I think a lot of people from the beginning of the year are being overlooked by up and comers. But, luckily that's what the mod/admin voting is for.

Also, I find it odd that the sidekicks have little to nothing to say, when I can name at least 3 Sidekicks who have done some major things for the site and/or forums.

Here are some good things to think about for potential candidates:

- Have they created anything for the site? Such as Videos, Trailers, Cool Graphic Things, etc.

- Have they created anything for the community? Such as gamedays, chatrooms, special events, etc.

- Have they helped the community out in some way? Unlocking achievements in games, beating certain games, helpful advice, etc.

- Are they outstanding members of the community? Just overall GOOD people that make everyone feel welcome whether online in a game, or in the new members forum, or whatever.
