I think I did pretty well for myself here. On paper, it looks really good, but we'll see how it works on ice.

I was more thinking of a bet on the our actual NHL teams when they play eachother, but I suppose that could work too...

Well, this is a fine way to start out. I thought I was going to have four players active tonight, but Cammalleri had to go and get himself suspended, so now I'm down to three. Swell. :verymad:

Edit: Make that two. Hamrlik is out with a bum knee. :ouch:

Yeah I had to switch out Morrow for Whitney last night when I heard he was hurt. I'm ready for this! Goal, not being last place!

I joined another pool started by a buddy of mine (the Team Awesome guys actually) against a bunch of the guys in the Canadian coast guard and holy hell I like the team I made in that pool than ours. I was 4th pick and somehow came away with Ovetchkin... Seriously have no idea how that happened but I'm not complaining! I planned my team out better too for that pool. Meh, oh well!

Derek Stepan. NHL debut. Hat trick. And it's only the second intermission.

This kid is fucking incredible.

History says it won't last. Leafs have a good defence but have one really good scoring line, one ok scoring line and then nothing.

Sens are playing like poo, but liek above I don't think it'll last. Just glad Leclaire's playing pretty well. He was really solid against the Sabers and Leafs and was pretty good against the Caps but that OT goal was a heartbreaker.

So Sevens, we're having a pretty good bought in week 1 eh? Tied 6-6 and I think we're been pretty much one or two points away from each other all week. What I can't believe though is my buddy who knows very little about hockey has been in first place in the pool all week... asshole!

Yeah I've already gone through two goalies already in our league. Thank god someone put Tim Thomas on waivers and I snatched him up. With Rask's first start of the season being pretty bad and Thomas getting a shut out in his he might have been a good pick up.

My other league if 2 of my six defencemen weren't injured then I would probably be cleaning up because Ovetchkin's on fire so far this season. Bet you the guys who had the first 3 picks in that league wish they took Ovie now!

Yeah, we've been dead even pretty much the whole time. Now, if Luongo could have had a decent game against the Ducks last night instead of letting in four goals, I would be in the driver's seat. Prick.

I'm pretty sure assists, power play points, and saves are mine. You probably have the losses column, and I thought you had the goals column until I posted four on Monday. I got a -4 along with it, but the rest of my stats looked pretty good that day.

Everything else is up for grabs.

Wow, you're killing me in assists. Really wish Bryzgalov played more than 2 freakin games this week though. He's my money ticket in net lol.

Speaking of net, what happened to Leclaire? He started the game, made three saves, and left in the first period. Is he hurt?

Not sure what happened. He got hurt somehow. I missed most of the first period and when I got home Elliott was in net and I was really confused. Apparently Leclaire hurt his ankle or something 2 min into the game. If he's out for any length of time I think his career might be done. Plus side is Robin Lehner will be coming up and this will help his development. See if he's the real deal or not.

I made a waiver claim for Elliott as soon as he was dropped. At least now I have two active goalies, what with Leclaire being out for god knows how long (because with him, you just never know).

Kovalev was a bad pick. I see why Sens fans seem to hate him. Drew Stafford is a much better choice.

I wish Luongo could stop a beach ball.

You got the better of me those last couple days, Mr Black. Do you know if we match up a second time?

I don't know, but don't feel bad. I'm destroying my buddy Rob in our match up this week!

Yeah I'm first place in the pool! But I'm getting my ass kicked in my current matchup... fuckin Thornton having a 5 point night...

Anyways, let's talk hockey:

One, headshots. Do you think they're too much under the microscope because of the new rule that's in place? I think for some part the player needs to be responsible and keep his head up. The hits I've seen this season mostly could have been prevented if the player would keep his head up and be aware there's always someone out there looking to hit you.

Two, how about those Devils? I knew they were going to be bad this year, but not THIS bad. Why doesn't Ottawa play them yet? We need to get some wins going to get some confidence!

Marleau had four points and a +4 last night. :-D

About headshots: keep your head up and it won't happen. When I see a player take such a hit, it's usually because they were looking down at the puck.

I am so XD ing at the Devils right now. When an NHL team can only ice 15 skaters, you know they're cap fucked to the extreme. I hope they keep it up.

Nevermind. Thanks to awesome goaltending by Bryzgalov and Thomas I just shot back up to first place in points and am now kicking ass in my matchup. Seriously, the Thomas waiver pickup is just feeding me points.

Oh the Devils... Cap issues. Brodeur's starting to look his age and, whodaguessedit Kovalchuck not buying into the team first policy that the Devils live by. Seriously, have no idea why they got him as he's just the completely wrong player for that team... and they're stuck with him for the next 15 years. Good job guys...
