Current Thoughts?

I got a new laptop. I was going to wait another couple of weeks, but it was on sale for $350 last weekend, and fuck if I'm gonna pass that up.

It's even nicer than it looks.

I'd likely jump at it. PSP has a huge library, games are dirt cheap, and you can easily mod it run all kinds of retro emulators.

He's wanting $75 for it, the cables, and 4 games (one's a MLB game, one's a Twisted Metal game, he didn't remember what the other two were). He said he got it for christmas, so it might be the latest model. I didn't jump on it yet because I haven't seen it yet, (The art of haggling rule #1: Always check the merchandise).

$75 is a fair price, isn't great. The Phat 1000s and the newer 3000s are less desirable. 2000s or a Go are pretty good.

The Wii sure is going out with a bang. Xenoblade, Last Story. I sure hope Pandoras Tower gets a NA release.

Found my old Super Nintendo at my parent's house yesterday. It was like meeting with an old friend. Whether it works or not is a different story.

That's the best. I went to my parents a year ago and was digging through the garage. Found my plastic storage bin containing six working NES's with power adapters and coax connections, four zappers, a dozen controllers and about 30 games (though many duplicates of SM/Duck Hunt).
It was like Christmas all over again.

I just got a bottle of ghost pepper puree. Initially, it burns like hell, but it's not the 30 minutes of agony I've heard about.

It's good stuff. I like it.

Wow, that's like Christmas and Birthdays all rolled into one. If the SNES doesn't work, I'm going to order a repair kit off of nintendorepairshop.com and get it up and going. I grew up in the 16-bit era and Super Nintendo was my favorite console.

THAT SUCKS.....seriously, a day where a Nintedo Power isn't published, is a sad day indeed.

Update on the PSP. I decided not to buy it. The guy moved his price from $75 to $100, and I really couldn't squeeze the trigger on something like that when I have a couple of projects at home that I need to start ordering parts on. No hard feelings.

Yeah, agreed, $100 for something you can get at Gamestop for $60 is a bit much.

Well, Amazon.com had psp 3001 (the one he was selling) used for $69.99.

Decided I wanted to try my hand at cart reproduction. I'm not technically or mechanically skilled but I'm capable and can follow instructions and there are plenty out there.

I never knew you actually had to bake the chips to clear them out. Interesting.

That and I'm really glad the Hyrule Historia is getting a North American translation.

So for awhile now I've been thinking about running a marathon as it's something I've always wanted to do. Well, looks like I might be taking it one step further... next year me and one of my old college roommates plan to run a Spartan Race. Don't know what it is?:
