I use to be active on the SA forums, actually I think my account is still there it's "gasline09"

We have been through this before and not everyone on TGH is a part of SA. Some of you guys probably talked about this on the SA forums (but that still didn't stop you guys from talking about it here) and that's okay. Just remember, no one is making you read this.

I also know that Link didn't direct that little comment of his towards me, I was just speaking my mind and I think I had a pretty valid point. Sometimes it's funny to see that admins and mods do more damage then the forum members themselves. It's okay though, we still love you.

Now back to Hard News chit chat, and I guess... Screwattack chit chat in general.

I think Craig would make a good replacement for Destin. It's funny to me that people are saying that Craig is a much better host for that show because from what I saw he pretty much acted the same way as Destin.

Eh, shit would only get real if the AVGN left.

I'm kind of surprised he hasn't. I don't go to Screwattack anymore, but I am able to keep up with AVGN's new videos through Facebook and Twitter. And since his videos are posted at Gametrailers (and then later reposted at YouTube)...I never even have to go to Screwattack. To me it seems like he doesn't really even need Screwattack, he'd be just fine on his own.

I think they get contract royalties and merch money...

That however is just my speculation.

James is a pretty nice guy, I think he's still around because he feels compelled to stay since SA helped make him, and vice versa.

James is awesome, he's staying true to his roots not leaving out his first fans. Same goes for Screwattack, though I only watch the shiz they got on GT now. And sometimes the Death Battle segment.

Good for anybody that can get some exposure, experience and have fun and leave on good terms to further what they want to do in life. That's truth for anyone, anywhere at any job. If you really care and put your heart and soul in to something and treat it and are treated with respect under all circumstances then there can be no regrets.

I didn't realize SGC was cancelled either, anyone here know why? Curious to know, Screwattack makes a huge deal of it each year as it's their big thing, also wasn't aware Corey left myself but a friend of Birdman (Mike) told me she's just been busy with her job, not sure what it is, and best of luck to Destin again as well! I enjoyed his style and he was a great guy, some people are always gonna hate (Legotoadeto!) so it'll be interesting to see what Screwattack does next, the main reason I stopped going wasn't out of spite (i came to gameheroes because I always liked Tom as a personality more) but mainly because it just felt like it was stagnated and I didn't care about SGC when it started because I'd never be able to go until after I finish high school (and university for that matter) which is a fair way off so I'd lose interest anyway. so there wasn't much need to stick around, also, there forums are impossible to get into for me, there user base is massive now and you get those "fanboys" who are just plain annoying, I like the community here, it's entertaining and tom and the gang get involved fairly often in their shows topics which I enjoy,

Corey left about a year ago. She did continue to do Corey's Corner and some other behind the scenes stuff. I guess it wasn't as big a deal because she still make some appearences but wasn't involved due to her taking a new job.

Destin has been the #2 guy for awhile and really helped SA expand with Hard News and The Armory. Him leaving is kind of a big deal. After 3 years, I guess he wanted to try something new and I wish him the best of luck.

As far as a new host of hard news, I've heard some rumblings but cannot share at this time.

SGC is canceled? Where did you hear that? I know 4th of July weekend didn't work out, but it likely will happen at some point later in the year, unless someone knows something I don't.




I don't think it is massive. I still think that we are maybe lower mid range as far as forums good. As far as fanboys we have few if any. FuturamaFreak and his like have been gone a long time.

Fair enough Fox, when I went on it, I found it difficult to really get into and who was who, I've been here since the start of the site and after changing to Lucrious from that other generic name I had, I've gotten involved in the forums a fair bit (though when I'm at school I'll be away a fair bit) and now that I've switched sides, I'm using it more so as a fresh start since the sites relaunching soon and because I'd been quiet on here for awhile,

I'm sure screwattacks forums are fine since I've last been on it, but when I took a look at the site after being gone for so long, i just couldn't find it interesting anymore, guess I'll just remember it as that cool site me and my mate found after he showed me their first top 10 about deaths in videogames

Legotoadeto, Link's going to think you've got it out for me if you keep up the hatred, I know its all in good fun, being nemesis and whatnot, but Link probably wouldn't see the post where you said your only joking around, so I'd cut out the hating

I really like Destin and am happy for him. Hopefully he does well in his future job.

Personally I think Destin was a really great guy. When I listen to him on SideScrollers, he really is a nice guy who was dedicated to his job, to the point that he drove through icy roads just to record an episode of Hard News. He also was a pretty funny guy who I liked listening to on SideScrollers. I'll certainly miss him and since the first time I heard him on the UMK 3 VGV, he grew on me.

In regards to Hard News, Nemesis (one of the mods at SA) mentioned that Jared would work well, which I agree with. Craig also seems like a great person to run the show. In regards to SideScrollers, I really want to see more Nick. My personal opinion is to return back to the combo of Nick, Jose, or Ben with Craig. Corey and Destin were my favorite combo along with the previous mentioned.

I hate seeing someone that I really liked to leave, but he's moving on to different pastures and we can all hope the best for his future. All I can say is good luck to Destin and thanks for the years he was under the roof of the HQ.

Never was big on Screwattack after Tom and crew left, but I did like Destin. The dude is genuinely funny and I hope the best for the guy. Outside of the content they post on Gametrailers the only thing of their's I watch now is Death Battle on youtube which has been great so far.

I will say that the fact that AVGN still being part of SA doesn't really surprise me. Its a mutual benefit for the two parties getting hosted on Gametrailers. Plus seeing how the two never have to interact much (James being here in Jersey and SA being down in Texas) there's less chance for any drama. And there's always the fact that James is probably a cash cow for them.

Just a heads up, the forums are fine.

Most of the fanboys and spammers just stay on the comments of videos. I can tell you stories about this one guy named MaDdOg....

I'm thinking about hitting up the Screwattack forums again. When I was there things were pretty slow on the forum, not in terms of internet speed but members posting on threads.
