So it's been a while since I posted here, but after seeing the preview pages of Avengers vs X-Men I needed to hear more people's thoughts on it; particularly the YIBR crew.

I wasn't going to bother with AvX because a) I don't follow either team and b) I'm not fond of heroes vs heroes in all out wars. After reading this week's issue of Punisher I saw that they put preview pages of the first issue of AvX at the end and dear lord, the art looks awful. It turns out the first issue is done by JrJr and if you though his art looked bad when they rebooted Avengers recently, this is so much worse. For all the shit I gave Civil War it at least had Steve McNiven doing the interiors which looked fantastic. This is a sloppy, rushed mess. And if they plan on having different writers and artists on the main event book then the end result is going to be terribly inconsistent.

The other reason why I'm bringing this up is because this is supposed to be THE event for Marvel this year, and this book is getting a midnight release and expected to pull in numbers like Justice League #1. I just don't see it happening. If it does (which I highly doubt) it's because this is a Marvel book and not because of any kind of quality.

I'm mildly interested in this story, but not the actual event... if that makes any sense? Like, I'm interested to see how it plays out in the X-Books & Avengers Books I'm reading, but I'm not going out of my way for this. It sounds LEAGUES better than Fear Itself, so... at least it has that going for it.

How could this not be better than Fear Itself?
