*sigh*, It seems today, that all you hear on pop radio is some autotune crap about N*****s up in da club. TBH, I find myself more and more turning to oldies and classic rock. I mean, theres some good stuff, but not much, I really hope we get better music in the 2010s

Then I heard "If I Were a Boy" by Beyonce. I gotta say, in a world of shallow music with lyrics that are the most perverted they have ever been, this is a song that I really, really like. The lyrics are deep, they carry a strong message, and that's rare! Lyrics like "I'd listen to her, cause I know how it hurts" or the next verse "Youre just a boy, and you don't care how it hurts, until you lose the one you wanted, cause shes takin you for granted, and everything you had got destroyed" Its powerful!

ive found that 90% of popular radio these days is pretty shit , what used to be considered pop 10 - 15 years ago is now found in country music , the number of stars that were once pop / rock and are now turning to country is astounding.

the one that still blows my mind the most is darius rucker - leader singer from hootie and the blowfish is now country, ive also heard bon jovi, and even bruce springsteen on country radio.

most of the time these days though , I find my self listening to pop and rock from the 60s and 70s.... the grass roots FTW.

depends on who ya'll listen to actually not everything is about flipping your hair up and down. Cudi makes awesome lyrics, J.Cole is a phenom, Ne-Yo well...I make out with dates to Ne-Yo music. If you disregard the Lil Weezy, the Lady Gagas, the Bieber fever RnB and hip hop hell Pop in general is pretty awesome.

The problem with artists in music today is that they are uninspired and bland sounding. They don't take any risks trying to set themselves apart or try to sound unique (well okay, except for a couple of artists but that still isn't saying much). I will go out on a limb and assume that everyone else feels the same way.

It's like watching American Idol today. You only watch it to laugh at retards who dress funny and make a fool out of themselves but when a "good" singer comes out you don't really care. It's not because they are a bad singer, that's not the issue. Most of them can sing but the problem is that THEY ALL SOUND THE SAME. That shitty uninspired and most of all, Bland singing voice that artists copy and only varies depending on what genre of music you listen to.

If you want to prove me wrong, then I propose a challenge. Make a list of all the so called "unique and original" singers of today's generation and I will make a list of all the unique and original singers of the past. Hell, one singer that comes to my mind is the singer for Wolfmother, Andrew Stockdale and he is pretty much just doing an impression of a rock singer from the 60's and 70's.

How do you get to number one in the charts? Scream sexist ramblings over a soothing guitar track.
