Because Henchmen have horrible job security and get launched out the missile silos when Villains run out of ammunition.

Sidekicks get health benefits, cool toys, kickass mentors, and when we die, we spend years in limbo and then get resurrected by some bullshit crossover event. Sometimes, we even get promoted to Hero status in our own right.

The Hero, the Sidekick and I'm the sorta Jimmy Olsen of the three. I'll be a sidekick eventually though! :-D
